This was rated one of the most depressing song by some book about that. I dont get it.. I mean yeah it's slow at first but c'mon the guitar solo is amazing. psssh I can think of more depressing songs than this. Anyway , for me this is about a doctor talking to Pink ( maybe someone already explained this). The doctor is trying to talk to pink, and telling him to nod if he can hear him. Because of drug use maybe...And the doctor is telling him that he needs information and to tell him "where it hurts". But Pink cant do that because it's not an external wound but rather internal. He cant show the doctor where it hurts. There is no pain, you are receding A distant ship smoke on the horizon You are coming through in waves Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying When I was a child I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons Now I've got that feeling once again I can't explain, you would not understand This is not how I am I have become comfortably numb ^ this is Pink talking, or thinking. whoa I just saw this on the net BV: ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’ was a part concept album in which you incorporated yourselves as you went along. If you were told right now to finish he story, or write the song that would serve as ‘the end’ what would the ending be like? GW: I just figured out the ending to the story yesterday. This is the total truth too. I was doing an interview and I didn’t say it during the interview but I actually figured out the end of the story. It’s weird because I never came up with an ending to this story. It’s really bleak though, but it would have to end this way if it was a movie, right? So the guy has to bring the devil the souls of a thousand evil men to be united with the woman he loves. I’m sure a lot of people saw this coming but I never realized it. So obviously he kills 999 evil men and then he realizes the last evil man he has to kill is himself.
