| Against Me! – Cliché Guevara Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
this song is about conforming to non-conformisty ... that is 'your a rebel because you have a che guevara shirt' but everyone has a fuck che guevara shirt ... so your not much of a rebel are you... its just like those trendy mao books back in the sixties he saying people are always heading for a front, but never actually doing anything - then gets a little self richeous, for him his music is as powerfull as any violent revolution... well ill agree |

| Against Me! – Baby, I'm an Anarchist! Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"Baby Im an Anarchist!" "i was burning that fucker and stringing my black flag high" "we're all hypocrites, but your a patriot!" So what is a patriot Wikipedia say: "Patriot (American Revolution), one who supported the American cause in the American Revolutionary War. "The word is derived from the Latin patria, fatherland, which has a much broader meaning than a geographical territory." Wikipedia defines hypocrite: " A classic example of a hypocritical act is to denounce another for carrying out some action while carrying out the same action oneself." I think against me gets it... but im not sure the rest of you "Anarchists" do... |

| Q And Not U – Nine Things Everybody Knows Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I like what you were getting at whitetide with the suicidal tendencies of the rich social pedestal thing. I think thats what (my favorite line) referes to: "If this is the cream of the crop its time to start burning the fields" i think he goes on to view this trend of suicide as a way of suburban kids to get attention and concludes by saying 'please put the nife back in the medicine cabinet' however theres still a lot I dont fallow (like what the 'washington bullet' is) and I wish I new what the 'nine things everybody knows' is maybe someone can enlighten me? cheers |

| Q And Not U – We Heart Our Hive Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Doesnt anyone buy cds anymore? All the lyrics are in the cover. anyway I think this song is about growing up in the suburbs(the hive) (for them dc I assume?) and the pleasure to reject being the straight-edge thing (they are on dischord) and them subtly disagreeing with it 'i cannot deny my own sweet tastes' (this is the individual vs society thing pirate is talking about) at least my take, cheers |

| Q And Not U – Fever Sleeves Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song totally describes my fashion, back in the late 90s I was totally 'Mr Blue and Black' (grey etc) and along came my my girlfriend 'The Fashion Self-Informed' who 'killed me with your[her] favorite comb' ie I got a emo-ish hair cut 'or dress me in your favorite clothes' I totally stole like 4 pairs of her pants 'sleeves colapse like this all the time' if your wearing girls pants you gota wear a tight shirt. the alarm goes off, and roll me out i think refer to her dressing him in the morning. also since im from orange county i think mentioning the swimsuit in the beggining is a refernce to how california has recently greatly influenced style (watch the oc?). The cold refernces remind me of how cold a girlfriend can be (especially when shes trying to change you)... but then again 'cold meow is not the message' Anyway thats what it means to me, id like to think it meant the same to the author. :) |

| Q And Not U – Kiss Distinctly American Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I think hes talking about not getting any from his (american) girlfriend and having to resort to 'painting the house white'. The fact that he concludes the song with 'this is fantastic' shows hes frustrated. I love this song, it gives me hope that all there songs actually mean something ;-) |
