| Drake – Find Your Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I can't see how anyone would think Drake is just another rapper. The things he typically says and raps about and the WAY he does it is unlike his mainstream counterparts. It can FIT in the stream, but there is a distinct difference. A more 'real' or 'soul'ful difference and I think THAT is why he has so many female fans (I'm not talking about us Degrassi fans). You can notice this difference from his very first hit, you know? So... This song is exciting. Its exciting to hear him take a different approach. This song is painful after I watch the music video. He is tired of not having the one. He finds a girl he can really give his all to and his thinks that if he puts all he can towards her, she will be the one. In the video, he was too wrong (even though he desperately did not want to be). I can so relate. I did this same thing. I thought "If I give him all my love, then he'll realize..." and I thought "I'm going to find his love". And it hurts very much! However, I had a very happy ending. This song just makes me more impressed by Drake. He's one of the few rappers that I'd actually want to meet, even for 5 minutes of a chat. (I'm sure I'd love to have dinner with other rappers and they be hilarious or smart or relateable or something appealing, but I wouldn't care to just talk to them for only 1 moment). |

| Tay Zonday – Chocolate Rain Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Its just very obvious that this song is simply about the injustice in the world in general and how it is covered up. Things such as governments lying to its people, some conspiracy theories, what they put in our food ... Basically, this song is about all the things corporations and governments are willing to do for money. :/ | |
| Phoenix – 1901 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| How the hell do you DANCE to this song? wtf... | |
| Rihanna – Russian Roulette Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
After reading the first few, I think it is about ending the abusive/bad relationship. Its scary to leave someone. You don't know what you might do without them. She's playing the game against... C.Brown or whomever. He's calm (so calm, he's giving her 'advice'). She's not calm. He's calm because he doesn't think she will leave. He thinks he will win (referring to the line about 'then I get a scary thought, the fact he's here means he never lost'). She is terrified. She has to close her eyes and count to three to pull the trigger that will end the relationship. Russian Roulette is a game of chance. Maybe she feels like what happens in the end is up in the air. She doesn't know if she can do it or not. |

| Shinedown – Second Chance Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Wow, you morbid people. The first time I heard it, I connected right away. The chorus, specifically. Trying to live on your own as an adult and following YOUR dreams after years of doing what your mother and father told you to. I really like the Hailey's Comet comment. I thought the same thing. She's going so fast and it takes her so long to get back. She's like "lol, you're scurrying around all the time, but you're still in the same place!" Like he's trying to get out as fast as he can, but it really isn't fast at all. He wants to be like Hailey's Comet because she sees the world in her own way. Even the man in the moon, the myth and old ideologies disappear because she's closer to the actual thing and can see there is no face or man on the moon. She has her own ideas about the world and she moves as she wants to. That's what the singer wants. That's what I want. |

| Anberlin – Feel Good Drag Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yeah, I interpret it as a man falling in love with a woman, but the woman was just using him to satisfy her lusts. She has been using him and using his emotions as if the devil is telling her what to do. | |
| Uffie – Ready To Uff Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I don't know what it means to be "free as a cop" | |
| Chrisette Michele – Be Ok Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is really helpful. I just found out I wasn't given any job positions at my school and I'm really upset. This song is helping me to get over it. IF you can't tell what it means... I'd suggest you actually read the lyrics LOL. Very straight forward. She broke up with the man that she loves, but even though it hurts because they loved each other, she needs to let go otherwise it will hurt her even more. She wishes the best for him in his life and she will move on to get the best in hers. As she sings this song, she's probably very sad, still thinking of him, but trying to put herself in this positive mindset. |
|
| Uffie – First Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is about her first love. It was such a good love. It felt so sweet. One day, he left her, and she thought he might come back (that's what she wanted. His love felt so wonderful). Eventually she realize that she needs to move on. Then at some point, the boy is wishing he could be with her again. He calls her to take her back and she rejects him, but she still remembers that he is her first love and it was amazing for her. | |
| Lily Allen – The Fear Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I do not think this song is about gettin gpublicity. I think its about looking at media and what you are surrounded by and allowing it to dictate your priorities and desires. This is why she doens't know how to "feel anymore". | |
| Lily Allen – The Fear Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Knowing that "The Sun" and "The Mirror" are newspapers really helps, but it makes sense (at least the mirror) without knowing its a paper. I like "I'm not saint and I'm not a sinner" because its like... She's not doing anything wrong, but then again she isn't doing anything right. And she doesn't care. But what I want to know is... What is "THE FEAR" exactly?? What are we afraid of?? |

| Paramore – Decode Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
@Sprinkles, thank you so much for actually telling us the song meaning! I do not watch or read Twlight, so I was a bit confused. I thought this had a more... negative meaning. "You think I can't see what kind of man you are if you are a man at all..." "I used to know you so well... How did we get here?" ... see how that can be interpreted? Like she got into a relationship and found out that maybe this guy is really terrible. Wondering how she got herself into his mess. But anyway, now that someone said it was written FOR the movie and explained it, it makes total sense. I like my interpretation better, though. I really like this song. Also, Paramore sounds just as good as they always have, IMO. |
|
| Santigold – You'll Find A way Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I also like how she says "You'll make your bed and it will wait, I swear". It took me a bit to get it, but I think its in reference to the "so you make your bed, so you will lie in it" meaning all he's doing is setting him up for something really bad in the end. The bad thing is waiting for him. Also like that "tell them that they get they wanted..." kind of sounds like she just gave up on trying to stop the druggie. |
|
| Santigold – You'll Find A way Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I love the remix of this song which brought me to love the original. They sound like totally different song! :) But anyway, at first, I thought this may have been about someone trying to have sex with her and she doesn't want it, but if he wants it bad enough, he'll find a way to have sex. But after reading y'all's comments and reading the lyrics more carefully, I'm beginning to think about the drug thing. Maybe she's talking to a druggie who does anything to get his fix and maybe she's accepting the fact that she can't stop him from getting his fix and helps him but he needs to be careful. |
|
| Beyoncé – Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It is obvious what this song means. It is about how she is now with another man, engaged/married and her ex boyfriend is jealous. She is saying that he can't be mad because not only could he not give her what she needed (real love) but he didn't propose any commitment (didn't put a ring on it). Someone else did. Too bad, so sad. | |
| Pink – So What Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Watching the video + the song, it looks like her husband left her and she is trying to prove she doesn't care, but it really hurt her and she's just being crazy around town because of it. The bridge shows that he really did hurt her. I like how in the video, they hug as if to say "Yeah, its effed up but its okay" | |

| M.I.A. – 20 Dollar Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
She's tired of talking about American now, she's gonna talk about her and where she come from. The most important thing about her and where she come from is the violence. So, in America, to get a gun takes a lot of work. But surprisingly, a gun in Africa is worth a dinner that people spend so easily here in America. Again, look at your items of status things that you desire so much here in America (and england or whatever). She wonders how you see what she has on her. Bananda, stains, etc. Signs of violence. She started out spiritual, but then got material and look at what it's caused. Yes, more violence in their homes. I'm not sure if she's saying America influenced it or not. If they're valuing TI and nice things for what reason? However, it says that the things we value here and people just go and get are blood there. So it leads her to ask where her mind is really. I'm tired of analyzing now. Someone finish it for me. |

| M.I.A. – Paper Planes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Everyone likes this song because of the lines and also we like the meaning. That people think illegal immigrants just wanna start a mess and take American money. | |
| John Mayer – No Such Thing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Reading the first comments made in 2002, I understand. Its a bitter sweet feeling when your underground idol becomes popular. You're happy for their success but you miss when they were "all yours" and you're scared that they might change. FIRST STANZA: He's meeting his high school counselour and she's telling him he must do this and that in order to be successful. You know the deal. You have to have SAT of XXX and you should have been president of such and such and John probably doesn't meet these requirements (never having been the prom king, etc.). He thinks he can make it, regardless of the fact that he doesn't fit the mold. He realizes that outside the lines of that mold, there can be so much more (and in fact, he is right. The richest and most successful people step outside the line). He notices that the good children are following the advice of the counselour. Now, the verse about parents... I THINK its about how the parents are getting older and they have experience and by now they've probably realized that staying inside the lines wasn't always the best thing and John wonders if they would go back and change it and if they feel bad that they did what they did (or rather, didn't do). John realizes that he can't be defeated as long as he's alive. That is, he will never be unsuccessful as long as he's trying his best. The Real World is a myth. That is, the way that people tell us students how the "real world" is is a myth. The real world is what you make it and if you stay within the status quo, it will become the myth that it doesn't have to be. |

| Katy Perry – Long Shot Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sounds like she was with someone and they unexpectadly fell into a relationship. She thinks it probably won't work, but if they never try it, they'll never know for sure. | |
| Katy Perry – Simple Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I don't know what it means. I tend to think its about someone who is slightly retarded and careless and she envies that. | |
| The Offspring – Come Out And Play Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
omg... for the longest time i misheard the lyrics and I thought it was like "You can't say no to a beautiful girl... You're under 18? We can do it any tiiime. Hey, come out and play!" and I thought it was about a weird pedophile or someone who liked budding teens and liked to lure young girls out to have sex. Now I know the lyrics are "The ganges stake their own campus locales... If they're under 18 they won't be doing any time..." Jeez! This song is COMPLETELY different now. |
|
| The Offspring – Hammerhead Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song is not about the war in Iraq. Its about school shootings. I don't completely understand it. I'll take this life so others may live? Maybe he means killing this person so people will learn their lesson and there will be less shootings like this or suicides. ??? And "I'm Just Doing What I'm Told"? That would mean something like the person thinks God told them to do it or they have voices in their heads, but I don't think that is the case with the most popular shootings. Perhaps with others or domestic shootings. I dunno... |

| Justice – D.A.N.C.E. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
There is a scene in the Music video where they have a shirt with a black man singing a heart then a shirt with a white man singing a broken heart. Also the shirt with the tear. Uhm, what about the shirt with the werewolf. These things made me go "YEP! definately about micheal!!" You guys helped me find more connections. these guys are clever! |

| Miley Cyrus – Start All Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Whoever said this has no meaning is really dumb. There is an obvious meaning. The boy has given her hard times before but she is falling for him again. She wants them to start a new. I feel like breaking down each verse but I am tired. |
|
| Miley Cyrus – See You Again Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I thought her best friend was Mandy. :/ Hmm? This song is adorable. I can relate to it. haha. This is the kind of song I would have gone crazy for when I was smaller. |
|
| Madonna – 4 Minutes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Does anyone know what this song is about? It makes absolutely no sense. All I can think of is that... there is some awesome song on and they gotta get together and dance their asses off before its over...? I don't like this song that much, either. |
|
| The Beatles – Your Mother Should Know Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think its about like... some music is just timeless. | |
| Aaliyah – Are You That Somebody? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song. I think its about Aaliyah. She is in love with this boy, but she has a secret. She is pregnant with another man's baby. She needs to tell somebody. Its a big secret to keep to yourself. She must be secretive because she doesn't want to seem like a slut. | |
| Paramore – Fences Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Okay, so this is about Hayley. The first verse confuses me. The public knows why she is there, but she needs to smile and pretend like she enjoys it. Well, obviously it can't be rehab or something. How can you act like you enjoy that? So maybe it's like an interview or a talk show or something. I don't know. I'm confused. And the "open wide" makes me think of popping pills or her going on stage and singing. |
|
| Paramore – Fences Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| wristsandhearts, the verses sound like panic because of the swing feel and the way the lyric rythm is and then there is a part of the chorus that sounds like panic, too. The bridge doesn't sound like Panic, no, but part of the verses, part of the chorus and the lyrics are kinda panic-ish. | |
| Paramore – Crushcrushcrush Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Okay, after reading what it means to Hayley (crush but the darker side of it where it leads to an obsessions) totally reminds me of myself and I have a new interpretation. One think I will say is that if that is how Hayley wants the song to mean, I do not think she did a good job at conveying that. It just seemed like a cute little crush thing. ... I am too tired to give my interpretation. I just mean that I can relate to this because I had a crush to the point of obsession and if that is what this song is about, Paramore did a revoltly terrible job, but okay. |
|
| Paramore – Misery Business Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
On the second page, someone has a really good and interesting analysis. I will give you mine. He/she said that the song is about jealousy and the boy is merely an object. 1. "I'm in the business of misery" - her goal is to make the girl miserable. "Let's take it from the top" - she will tell us the story. 2. "She's got a body like an hourglass that's ticking like a clock" - This hott girl has the means to blow up in your face. 3. "When I thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth" - Hayley was flirting for this boy, but the hott girl merely kissed him (or something) and he is hers now. To me, this shows that the boy is very... not respectable. So I do not see the point of having a serious relationship with him and this just adds to the boy being merely an object since he is probably a scumbag. 4. After 8 months the hott girl got tired? Hayley gets the boy and the hott girl cannot believe what she is seeing after 2 weeks. CHORUS I think hayley is being very sarcastic because we know she hates the hott girl. So H is indeed bragging. She got the guy and took everything away from her enemy. 1. H will not give the hott girl a chance to make up. She is way too jealous or preoccupied with revenge. 2. Perhaps the hott girl gave H some advice or wanted to become friends and become like each other, but H will have nothing to do with it. BRIDGE The bridge is just more bragging. The person who inspired me to understand the song is disappointed in the pretentiousness of this. But I enjoy it. I enjoy the emotion and I really like that I didn't understand it until I really thought about it. All thanks to a dude on page 2. |

| Paramore – Crushcrushcrush Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
To me, it means that she has a crush and so does the boy but there are people trying to keep them apart. It reminds me of middle school, ya know? Stupid drama. Where are some of you coming up with her having a crush and him not liking her back? In the first verse, it is extremely obvious. |

| Lil Mama – G-Slide (Tour Bus) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| But I'd like to know why people use pacifiers when they are not 2 years old (see video) | |
| Lil Mama – G-Slide (Tour Bus) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The lyrics are wrong. For one she doesn't say "My hopes seem fly high" she says "My whole scene fly high" and she doesn't say "They're like terriers" she says "They're vegeterians" ... Anyway, I love this song. Amazing. Basically its about how she wants everyone to learn how to Gslide, no matter who you are or what you are doing. |

The lipgloss is passed down from her mom. It is a magic lipgloss. When she put it on and then blows, the magic comes and everybody gets krunk. This song was so cute and made everyone wanna play and dance. But now it is a little annoying so let's move on to the GSlide |

| Beyoncé – Green Light Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Alright, I get it now. It means the dude can leave the relationship if he wants to. I still don't fully understand what she means, but I guess the general is all you need for Beyonce. | |

I do not get the verses in this song. :/ Right now, I think it's just a bout a guy who does not like her, but she wants him. (how can anyone resist B?) |

| Kanye West – Celebration Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Yeah, these lyrics aren't as good as the other ones, but I liked some parts and I think the beat is cool. At first hearing here was how I thought: "The beat sounds like it's gonna be boring. I can't believe he put this on his CD... ohh... nevermind, this is really nice! Hey 'ye!" :P |
|
| Kanye West – Bring Me Down (feat. Brandy) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Dude, I don't understand what Brandy is singing... So I went and found lyrics: "Why you come here, I bet it only it was forget to get ya What kind of dream we found, see I'm often at your cross way forgetting it was that heaven let ya. They tried to bring me down" Does anyone know what that means? o_O Yeah, I freakin' love this song. Stop talking about College Dropout. This is Late Registration, yall... But I do love the theme. This is gonna turn into a new conversation. |
|
| Kanye West – Addiction Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I love this song. It's just about being addicted to all those destructive things. The end makes me laugh its "you her and me" not "you are in me" (that doesn't even make sense) |
