Eazy-E – Nobody Move Lyrics 20 years ago
Haha! First to post...

Well the lyrics are pretty obvious: Eazy and Ren go in and rob a bank. As for a meaning? Probably just a commentary on ghetto life.

Lyrics are much better then the crap rappers are putting together today (at least what is mainstream, maybe I'm not listening in the right places :p ). Now it's all *yo mama yo' mama yo' mama yo' mama* or *I have all this money I'm so rich* or *damn that bitch ass ho's bitch ass is so fine.* They don't even bother to expand on those topics either, just put it the same plain, stupid way rappers always have. BLAH.

Weezer – Undone - The Sweater Song Lyrics 21 years ago
Hmm, now I've just read JohnHale6's interpretation. Pretty good; I had missed some of the part where she asked him if she could give him a ride to the party in the beginning, which is definatly not something that should be ignored. Now I wish I had read that before I wrote my response, instead of just reading the first page of stupid comments.

Weezer – Undone - The Sweater Song Lyrics 21 years ago
REALLY. It seems not many of you have taken a decent english class. It's crazy to think that this song is some huge sex inuendo; to much of it would be arbitrary. HERE is what the song is about (keeping in mind that, as in most peices of art, this song was written with a specific experience, thought, theme or idea that the artist wanted to convey, and although each person is up to his or her own interpretation, there is a set meaning to the song. If there is not, it only proves the artist's incompetence in writing.)

First off, the beginning of the song. It is obviously a guy at a party, many of his friends are talking to him, they have seen him before. It is some sort of a reunion. Notice, however, that whatever his friends say to him, he has little to respond with. His mind is clearly somewhere else. Thinking about a girl, perhaps? is the relationship in the past? We shall see.

The first stanza is just the singer kind of "venting" his frustration. "I can't /sing it / here me / know me." The singer is sputtering for words, It's as if he is saying, "uh, well, just listen to what I have to say."

The chorus follows. What excacly does it mean though? The sweater is symbolism for a past relationship with a girl. (Think of the connotations for sweater; it keeps you warm and protects, it's hard to make, etc, similiar to a relationship.) When the singer says "If you want to destroy my sweater
/Hold this thread as I walk away," this seems to be him saying "fine, if you want to end our relationship, be that way. I'm leaving."

Soon after that the artists says "Oh no / It go /It gone /Bye-Bye / Who I / I think / I sink /and I die"
This means that this relationship was in the past ( "Oh no, it gone, bye-bye) "Who I/ I think/ I sink/ and I die" this is saying that when he thinks about the girl, it hurts. bad.

Then follows the chorus, and the lyrics "Watch me unravel I'll soon be naked / Lying on the floor, I've come undone." Here he is saying that now that his girlfriend has broke up with him, he's completly vulnerable, wasted. Think of him just going home afterwords and staring at the ceiling while lieing on the floor. The line "I've come undone" definatly describes him after the breakup, he doesn't really feel complete anymore without her.

The last chorus is what he actually said to her, and what he was thinking, and perhaps what the people who were watching said about the breakup. (his thoughts are usually in the brackets, what the background singers are saying. It's a good effect because it is not very clear what they are saying, meaning he didn't really say what he was thinking.)
"If you want to destroy my sweater," sort of like him saying *fine then, if you want this to end so be it.*
"[I don't want to destroy your tank-top]," a contrast to the sweater metaphore. Him thinking * I don't want this to end...*
"Hold this thread as I walk away" - again, the artist is saying to her *allright, if you want to break up, I'll just walk away. I won't even care.*
"[Let's be friends and just walk away]" - this is really what he wants to do. He doesn't want to be hurtful and tell her to *piss off, if you want it this way.*
"Watch me unravel I'll soon be naked" - Him saying *i hope you feel guilty about this. Watch me breakdown to peices.*
"[Hate to see you lyin' there in your Superman skivvies]" This is the exception to the brackets representing his thoughts. This is perhaps an observor, or his girlfriend. He/she is saying here: *Man, that's gotta suck to break up. I hate to see you all down like that.* The reference to his "superman skyvies" is probably true in a literal sense as well as being a sort of symbolic oxymoron. It's as if the observer is saying *oh, well you're not such a superman, because now that she's "unravled" you you're in your underwear,* or *now that she's broken up with you you're not a big tough guy like you acted towards here at all, you're weak.*

"Lying on the floor, I've come undone
[Lying on the floor, I've come undone]" This is the final resolution to the story. Now that she's broken up with him, he's never really down, and he's never really gotten over it. The fact that he's still hurting is shown by the way he talks to his friends at their reunion.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents. Other Weezer songs/songs in general are sometimes hard to analyze because the artist makes references to things that are specific to their lives, or are not obvious enough to the listener. Just remember that in a good peice of music, or art in general, nothing is arbitrary.
