This song to me, carries the theme of child rape: "who left the playground a good decade before the bell rang?" meaning what adult in their right mind would leave a child alone by themselves "and he tells her he'll take her away where it's safe and of course it is a lie" the orange man is persuading the little girl to come with him rather than taking her by force but then who knows amanda may have written it like this on purpose to make you think the obvious thing, but if you really think about it it seems to be about growing up |
