if i bought you flowers, could i stare at you for hours? this is the cheesiest song ever and i'm happy to say i know ever word of it already. one of my favorite bands, i'm sorry they broke up. there is one part that is wrong though. it's "doll yourself up right". you know, make yourself pretty? they're going out for a night on the town and he loves her she just doesn't know because he has emotional problems. |

it's really sad that more people haven't replied to this song. not only are the lyrics beautiful but the pianos at the end make your cheeks tingle. if i had to break it up i'd just look at the last two lines. they say a lot in two simple sentences. this is truely a thinker. |

i like this song because it takes me somewhere. i can imagine the places he's talking about. i actually see the city in my mind. that's the best quality a song could have, to do something to someone. |

i don't think anyone "fucked" anyone over. it's just two kids who are growing up and noticing that they're different and because of those differences the feelings they once had are no longer as strong. however, they still can look back and remember the times when they were like crossed fingers, inseparable. everyone goes through it, it's a huge part of growing up. anyone can relate and i think it's blantantly obvious that this is a huge flaw in humanity. letting go but still having those memories to bring forth a number of different emotions that can both hurt and be the best thing in the world. |
