Hmm... I do find it strange though that this is their SECOND reference to that Mayan prediction.... The first was in A Certain Shade of Green ("Are you gonna stand around till 2012 AD?"). |

OK... The significance of 10:24... That's when the world is supposed to end - December something in the year 2012... at exactly 10:24... (according to the Mayans). But I was just on an incubus website in the "Brandon Says" section, and it's actually just a side thing they threw into the video. It's not even mentioned in the song - it was just kinda supposed to symbolize that her life was going to be over whether she was ready for it or not. The song is more about how you should really live your life and do what you need to do before you realize it's too late.
And anyone who denies the worth of this song should go away. I love all of incubus's old stuff, but just because this song is different doesn't mean it sucks. |

I definitely think that this song is NOT about getting high. I think it's more about obtaining perspective on a situation... Something that is much easier said than done. (i.e. "To obtain a bird's eye is to turn a blizzard to a breeze."). It's also saying that once you figure it out and get a better perspective, life is much easier ("Perspective pries your once-weighty eyes and it gives you wings."). Just a thought... |
