| My Morning Jacket – What a Wonderful Man Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Parts of this song made me think of Bill Hicks particularly with lines like 'Love goes on', 'Sensible man' and with the references to the 'Flock' these all match as references to or adapted quotes from the great man himself. I know the song really has nothing to do with this though. In reality it is about a friend of the band who passed away. The friend was a 'Wonderful Man' you see and Jim realised this more after losing him. Great, great song. |

Not sure whether this is the meaning of the song at all but I think of the image of the little sister in the song as it could be anyone's little sister. Any lover/stripper/hooker could be someone's little sister. Maybe then it is some form of inner conflict sort of 'boy I'd like to....her then.....then....some more, but wait, I'm not sure I should be doing these things to someone's little sister.' How's that for a theory? |

The reason I am even looking at this song is because I heard it and thought, 'hmm this song is about oral sex' you wouldn't think a big hit song would be so obviously sexual as that, or perhaps you would. There is no question of missing out the rest of the song because the chorus is so obviously her doing him and the verse: "Like a child you whisper softly to me You're in control just like a child Now I'm dancing It's like a dream, no end and no beginning You're here with me, it's like a dream Let the choir sing" Is so obviously him returning the favour culminating in her orgasm "Let the choir sing" I also forgot to mention that this song sucks, which is another blow job connection. A far more sensual song than this is "Taste" by Mellisa Auf Der Maur, or pretty much any other song ever written. Good Night |
