After listening to the song some more, I still think it is an anti-Bush song. The "How can you ask for forgiveness? How can you say that your crimes are victimless?" lines reflect the tone of the song. It is a sort of prophecy that Bush will at some point come to regret the terrible things he has done and at this point attemp to ask for forgiveness. And he already claims that his crimes are victimless... Just my thoughts on it though, I don't know how political Chris is, but thought it was a neat song. |

I actually think this song is a big anti-George Bush song personally. How do you deal with the consequence, now that we bear the weight of your arrogance? I know you and your cons, your petty little bombs, but who will you blame your troubles on now? We all pay in time, so how will you clear your conscience when your lies unwind? That pretty much tells me what he trying to say about the current administration. I don't know maybe I am way off base as well... |

| It is a shame that the final copy of Chase this Light doesn't have this song on it. I'd love to hear it in a final produced version. Hopefully this and "Be Sensible" make appearances as B-sides or something. | |

Well actually Capt aviator, your meaning is fairly close to the truth and one of the better written ones I have seen. However, while I think the hair is a metaphor for many things, I believe it also quite literal. It is hard to for someone to not leave their hair on your bed or on your pillow for example. Perhaps everytime Chris would go to bed he would find one of her hairs and remember her all over again. This has happened to me so I'm sure it has happened to others as well. |
