I mean, I CHECKED THEIR BLOODY SITE www.inflames.com, found that cool site, and loved them for it. At that time this was “the fucking STYE period..” BUT U KNOW WHAT?? I WAS OPEN MINDED AND TOOK IT FOR WHAT IT WAS, MY FAVE BAND’S WEBSITE. I thought it was AMAZING. EXACTLY AS I KNOW “STYE” TRULY IS. Not before exactly THIS BLOODY DAY!! I UNDERSTOOD ALL THIS!! :D U now.. when I had found their site I said that I kinda “guarded” them.. By that I mean something like this: I TOLD EVERY FUCKER I SAW WRITING IN THER GUESTBOOK THAT HAD THE “WRONG” OPINION EXACTLY WHAT I REALLY, REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT. Exactly as I’m doing right now. Be honest and follow your heart. “it usually takes you home” Then another thing u can do to not get in the same FUCKING PROBLEMS THAT I DID, is to “slow down a bit when you play ure life, and do what u think it right.” I DID. But not at first. DON’T DO THE SAME MISTAKE!! (but if someone would really wonder, then my life is by far not over. coz I was open minded. As I said earlier, I’m really just an “ordinary fan”.. 17 years old and JUST A LITTLE INSPIRED BY IF:s really GREAT MUSIC!! =D WE MUST BELIEVE IN IF. HAVE TRUST IN THEM. THE ONLY THING I CAN THANK THOSE HATERS FOR IS THAT I BELIEVE THAT ALL THIS DEPRESSED “TEENAGE BULLSHIT” MADE IF STRONGER IN A WAY!!! And perhaps, they even made IF to be something better.. well I’ll wait for come clarity before I can tell that =) AND, IF ANY FUCKING SINGLE ONE OF YOU REALLLY DID READ ALL THIS STUFF I WROTE, then I hope it at least gave u something, and perhaps gained IF something TOO!! The thing is still though.. It’s like this u know: ONE REALLY IMPORTANT THING WITH LIFE IS this single word, “perspective”.. I learned that through experience and hope I CAN LEARN SOMEONE MORE the same thing with another kinda “experience”... u see.. Life is really simply about having the right perspective to stuff u know. The same goes in music. The same goes with IN FLAMES this day, because they helped me to truly “understand” life. TO ME, THAT MAKES THEM THE BEST, ASS-KICKING, FUCKING MOST INCREDIBLE BAND THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN!! =D And to me, theses guys finally made me to realise some stuff, like what “may the force be with u for a “true” star warz fanatic. At least to me, it means, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!! :D Trust the force, may those flames burn forever and may IN FLAMES become really HUGE!!!!! okey.. think about this a sec before reading the next part. ok.. last night... or righter said today, coz it made me think all the bloddy nite long about what to write here now.. becouse i couldn't sleep, I WAS TOO FUCKING INSPIRED about what i would tell u, U know. Last night, it struck me chockingly hard that all that well though out stuff I HAD WRITTEN HERE.. would be completely WASTED. COZ NO ONE WOULD NEVER REALLY TRY TO UNDERSTAND IT!! THATS WHY I FIGURED OUT I WOULD WRITE ANOTHER ordinary "STORY"....... coz all those ppl would think that I just was another total IF-freak. COZ, I mean..seriously, when u tell the world that YOU'VE "ONLY" BEEN A FAN FOR A FUCKING YEAR, MAYBE LESS.. then what do you think they will suspect? THAT URE A FUCKING IDIOT, PSYKO OR SOMETHING SIMILIAR, THAT IT CANT BE NORMAL TO LOVE A BAND SOOO MUCH AFTER ONLY A YEAR........ But I tell u this now. Believe it or not. I'm not any fucking psyko. Thats exactly what I really want to tell to EVERY FUCKER ON THIS SHITTY, TINY, LITTLE PLANET CALLED "EARTH" where usually "egoism dictates human relations" and "a world where fashion outshines morality" or "designed by the thirst for power" OR MAYBE AS THE SONG WE ALL KNOW AS "ORDINARY STORY"... I know, it has nothing to do with this album or this song. However I use those words COZ THAT WAS THE SONG THAT FINALLY MADE ME REALISE IT ALL....... I REALLY HOPE EVERY FUCKER WHO READS THIS TRULY UNDERSTANDS "WHAT" I MEAN!! What i try to do right now, IS TO TRY AND CONVINCE AS MANY FUCKING PPL AS POSSIBLE.. before its too late :( even if u hate me for writing all this shit.. then plz at least try to understand me. I'm really not doing this for greed or be a hero or something. It's simply made by heart. "Follow your instintcs, they usually takes u home" NO, I'M IN FACT DOING THIS FOR YOU, U FUCKING LITTLE SCUMBAG WHO ONCE CONSIDERD IF HAD BECOME A SELLOUT BAND AND THAT ALL THE HOPE FOR THEIR MUSIC WAS OVER!! I mean all those so called "loyal fans" that once said IF was a sellout and that their music was a sellout and that they would NEVER become as great as they once was. MAYBE I'M JUST A TOTAL IF-FREAK THAT SIMPLY CANT SEE ANYTHING WRONG ABOUT THEM ????? Well.. i'd tell you this. The answer on that question is yeah.. I AM JUST A TOTAL IF-FREAK THAT CANT SEE ANYTHING WRONG ABOUT THEM!! You know what? It's almost "sad but true"... and i'd like to say that that's also a fucking awesome song by METALLICA!! You know what more strange facts there are about me??? My fave, all time bands, are, in the exact order: IN FLAMES, MAIDEN AND METALLICA. You know why? Coz i started listen to maiden becouse they play absolutely INCREDIBLE MUSIC!! But i have a problem with maiden nowadays, or perhaps 2. FIRSTLY, TO ME, their music gets all TOO BOOORING after like a few hundred listens. SECONDLY, and i guess this is prolly a kinda unique experience.. in the beginning i did find their lyrics amazing and all that... However, to me, i dont know how others will view my opinion so i tell u this, TOO ME, THEIR LYRICS NEVER WAS THAT GOOD LIKE IF:s...AND TO THAT.... THEY GOT TOO DAMN BORING AFTER LIKE A FEW HUNDRED LISTENS!! and that made me forget their lyrics.. which greatly reduced the love i feel for this band. Yet, i think they are still kinda cool and have a very UNIQUE STYLE!! That still holds em on my second place in my ALL-TIME LIST!! Now on to the third place, Metallica. Everybody knows them. Everybody loves them. And yet, EVERYBODY HATES THEM!!! And thats MOSTLY COZ OF ONE DAMN ALBUM!! TO MEEEE, BOTH IF AND METALLICA BOTH HAVE THOSE AMAZING LYRICS; THEY TRULY "MEAN SOMETHING"!! WHERE-EVER-I-GO, I find ppl relating "stye" to "st.Anger"... and relating both bands as "sellouts".. thats so terribly sad that it cant be true.. "sad but true" indeed... Ok, i will confess a thing. I don't really own "st.anger" but i still know it was no sellout. But however, I DO OWN STYE. AND I LOVE IT!! If u have any problem with that,U CAN bite me too! :D Becouse the thing is, NONE OF THOSE BANDS ARE SELLOUTS!! Every fucking REAL fan knows this. By heart. In the same way I know, by heart, that IF are no sellout band. Both IF and Metallica simply changed as a band through the years. Their taste changed. I guess Maiden's taste simply did not. Not that much as i would hear it at least. And I dont GIVE A SHIT!! I mean.. someday we will all be forgotten. No matter how great we are. Perhaps not tomorrow, perhaps not in a year, perhaps not in 20 years, perhaps not in a hundred years. However, perhaps after a 1000 years.. Everyone will prolly be forgotten before the human race ends one day. AND after that, then IT WONT MATTER ANYTHING AT ALL WHAT ALL THESE AMAZING GUYS ONCE DID.. IT WILL BE WORTH COMPLETELY NOTHING. However, til that day i hope the "masses" will have learned something more about what a "real" sellout is. And, AGAIN, SIMPLY WITH OTHER WORDS: "Nothing else matters" also a truly great song IMO. I already "know" this coz of many, yet very simple facts. a) everybody wants to like it, their old fans want to becouse a lot of them hated and bashed and didn't really try to truly "understand" stye, and then of course they wanna love this "new album" coz they dont wanna leave IF. They want IF back, and btw of course they will start to "understand" IF:s first "new" album, reroute, more and more. coz they want to like it as that seems to be IF:s new style. U see. Simple. Hope that will happen with STYE too someday. I really do. Of course ALL THOSE HATERS WANNA LOVE IN FLAMES AS ALL THE REST fans. And well, i think it's kinda obvious that the new fans will "like" it.. b) While they were recording the new album, they were under "heavy fire" - as their old fans, litterally, bashed the life out of them. c) Actually, i have heard rumors about them saying stuff like, "Come Clarity will sound like a mix of reroute & stye and a little colony. I think that "tha a little colony-sound" can be true. In fact i'm very sure about it, coz: d) on their website they have made clear that they are kinda, takeing a step back, maybe not for sure in new albums to come, but i feel that they've kinda given signs that they are still standing for their "older stuff" e) on their site, they have said that the new album will feauture "more guitar harmonies" or something like that..btw,IMO, the most logical solotion is that they'll make it a lil' bit like that, colony i mean.. i think that would be the only way for IF to really get through this without failing. + that i have a feeling that they haven't played colony live so much lately.... f) used and abused... In Live We Trust. i dont have it yet.. but the reactions from the fans seems to be really wonderful.. much better than i suspected, and i suspect one more thing with it, as THEY HAVE ALL SONGS FROM STYE ON THAT LIVE DVD... I think "that" will GREATLY HELP them to remove those "betrayed fans" either through, 1; they wont buy it coz it sounds terrible when they see all stye song on it, and 2; the "loyal fans" will buy and perhaps think a lil' better about STYE, when they see those amazing live versions, i mean, partly, at least the band says so, they made their last albums more to be played "LIVE" than at your pc or your cd-player. :D that sounds really cool to me. :p I'm sorry if i did sound a little negative to you guys when i was at least "trying" to explain my opinion about this band and other fucking so called "sellouts." I believe one man (or woman), can change the world. Maybe it's not gonna be me. However, U KNOW WHO I THINK IT'S GONNA BE? IN FLAMES, MAYBE THEY WONT CHANGE THE WHOLE WORLD.. Thats the spirit, me tall i ca.. i'm really glad to see there are fans like you out there! :D IMO, this is an awesome song; coz of a) i dont rate music by how difficult it is to play, and b) i like simple music, thats usually the best... I think STYE was a good album. And to me, STYE without this song would be like.. lets say, like a hamburger without the burger :p About the meaning, many ppl has already explained that. I think it's something about escapeing to that quiet place and feel that u are the one who decide what you wanna do, but that u must take notice about what happens in "the outside world" too.. if you only care about your little world it can go very wrong, thereforce the rest of the band playing psychopaths in the video... But IMO, their best album yet is colony..by far :) and my fave all time IF song is ordinary story, with the words "gather the faithful and propose a toast to the epoch of indifference" as a big reason y. i dont know why, but in some way it connects to me with every one of their albums, each one of them is so unique and different... ahh well..my fave song is ordinary story and thats where i will begin my story: Firstly, i'm a kinda new fan (about a year). I have almost completely only listened to them ever since.. I've bought every single album and i completely adore every one of them =) however, the first album i bought was STYE.. and yes.. at the first listen, i didn't like it at all.. But i had payed money for that piece of shit so i wanted to love it so bloody much :D and thats what made me like this album. i wanted to like it. I mean, I wasn't used to that kind of music at all.. my fave band was maiden at the time. But after many listens i started to like it more and more, and then i have this memory when i had the album with me to a friend; I told him he could copy it to his computer if he wanted, and so he did.. then we would choose a few songs from his computer for a lesson we would have in school, and the funny is, which song of all those thousands he had on his computer do you think we found the best? THE QUIET PLACE!!! - and at that time i hadn't listened much at all on the album either.. maybe i have bad taste, i dont know. However STYE learned me one thing. Music is just about opinion and perspective. I mean.. yeah.. i knew that before but now i really understand it =) Some ppl say that yeah right they gained many new fans with stye but they would've got so many more if they made another clayman. I say, maybe it's true, but we cant really know that. I think the whole reason stye giveing lots of new fans is this single song. Quite Place. Now to the next part of my story. When i wanted to know everything about this amazing band then i started to find stuff like, FUCKING SELLOUT!FUCKIN POSER BAND!! RETURN TO YOUR ROOTS!!!! That did make me very worried in the beginning, coz at the same time, i was exploring their older works as well and i halfly started believing all that shit ppl says about em.. :/ But now,I KNOW that calling IF a sellout band is the most RIDICULOUS thing u can ever do. I mean, most bands change their music, but not in this way. Most bands make an album that is slightly different from the last one which will make their old fans slightly dissapointed and add some new. But the thing is, IF ISN'T AS MOST BANDS. They made an album that was so extremely different from the last one that even their old, so called "loyal fans" started to leave them. If U didn't understand the meaning of what i just wrote here.. then read this: THEY RISKS THEIR WHOLE FUCKING FANBASE AND YET THEY GET CALLED "SELLOUT"!!!!! You may still think it's a sellout coz all their older stuff is nothing like this, that they maybe just wanted to gain more fans and simply said, FUCK OFF!! to their older fans. But I dont think so. You got to remember that they've been playing all this stuff for many, many years.. i think they simply wanted a little change in their music. Variation. Do u guys know Dark Tranquality? (another great melodic-death band) Well if u do, their singer,Mikael Stanne's fave IF album is REROUTE TO REMAIN. Thats kinda funny as i find DT:s music more old-school, more like IF:s older works.. think about that for a moment. I dont mind if IF:s next album will sound like stye or colony, jester race or clayman. I WILL BUY IT, LISTEN TO IT AND ENJOY IT FOR THE THING IT ACTUALLY IS; ANOTHER GREAT IN FLAMES ALBUM. JUST A LITTLE DIFFERENT. I believe they simply follow their heart when makeing an album, I believe they try to make music they like, no matter what their "fans" will think about it. To me, that is amazing. End of story. And to me, IF is truly more than the ordinary. "Gather the faithful and propose a toast to the epoch of indifference" read those words really slowly ALL U HATERS!!! I hope IF:s REAL fans will someday step out from the shadows and finally show the world that there was no fucking sellout. |

| I love this song.. and i also love their new sound as well as their old.. i saw them live not so long ago and they were really amazing! that was by far the best concert i've been on in my whole life!! and i think this song was really superb and better than many of the other "older stuff" they played.. but thats just my opinion so get one yourself and don't care what others say about it!! =) | |
