| The Maccabees – Lego Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Its about a parent dying. At first he reminisces about their childhood and then the crossing the road has become fatal and metaphoric for dying: "Cross the road, say goodbye. There wasn't a dry eye, there wasn't a dry eye" | |
| The Feeling – I Love It When You Call Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i really like this song but i think the chorus is lame... detracts from some of the quality lyricism of the rest of the song... Oh just realised something, literally now as I'm typing and listening: Yeah I wonder where you've been, Yeah I wonder who you've seen, These lyrics are used in Miss You, the song after Blue Picadilly. I like it when bands have lyrics which pop up more than once in albums. |

| the guy does have a funny accent tho for a Sussex lad, sometimes it sounds normal, then other times less so. But then the Kooks singer doesn't sound like he's from Brighton. so hey... weird accents get attention! | |
| The Feeling – I Want You Now. Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think he wants her.. but haven't worked out when. | |
| The Feeling – Helicopter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| yeh lls2007 ur right i think. hes just got to the point where, half in jest, he says he wants a helicopter. every guy would love to fly a helicopter (i know i would!) but never will, so i think its a metaphor for the fact that in reality he'll never have this person but can always have a dream of it. | |
| The Feeling – Miss You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| theres lots of lyrics sites out there which say its "much stronger now i've had a dream". seems stupid, but he doesnt actually pronounce the k... i presume its drink though. | |
| Silverchair – Emotion Sickness Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i love the live version of this song, with the repeating chord progression for a good five minutes after the main bulk of the song. This is most likely just for show, but i just found a bit of meaning to it, in that its like the repetitive dependence on the anti-depressants. | |

"Maybe I'm just the thing To break my own fall " hes the only one who can stop this pain hes going through... |

| Craig's Brother – Lost At Sea Lyrics | 21 years ago |

although i know CB arent alllll about religion, i reckon this is about someone who has strayed from a christian path and is seemingly unreachably submerged in the temptations of sin, like an unfinished version of the Prodigal Son, i guess it mite mean that 2 me cos i sumhow feel like that mite be me |

| Craig's Brother – Going Blind Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| cb arent exactly OUTWARDLY christian.. but nehu thats why Craigs Brother r so good, as well as in Insult 2 Injury, they believe that christianity isnt about being polite or doing "wats right" but its about knowing ones imperfections and loving and thanking god | |

| Craig's Brother – Flag Down Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| what a song this is, i think probs the best on EPidemic, presumably about Bush's (and Blair for me, being ENglish) leading people into an unecessary war, and trying to convince the country and themselves that what they're doing is right. | |
| Silverchair – Paint Pastel Princess Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| oooh bo and arrow of course that makes sense lol that lyric has had me confused for years... i knew aropax was his anti-depressant... god im so dumb lol | |
| Silverchair – Pins In My Needles Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I'm from the UK, and Silverchair r kinda known but not really. they ought to be much more well known, dam them from not being from the leading nation in the world pins in my needles....wot a classic song... i agree with JesusChristPose that their Bsides could make a bloody good album by themselves. *pay them with light cos money is hollow* ladadada |

| Silverchair – Too Much Of Not Enough Lyrics | 21 years ago |

this is sometimes my favourtie song on the album, very much an underrated Silverchair song IT ROCKS!!! the ending is soooo good, really dreamlike, a great song for going to sleep to. praps "and I couldn't /Stand in the straight postured sun" refers to his reluctancy to be in the public eye or investigated by the media and "the human garden", perhaps the moulding/manufacturing of celebrities by the media and teh record companies |

yep it was on godzilla, not that i saw it. I agree withe you atthedrive-in, that line "dreams are bad when all they do is leave the truth behind" really is it for me, and i think its not only a schleepy-sort of dream, but also like (for me, this is) when u want someone and you want someone, and the more u want them the more u convince urself that you will have them, or praps almost that you do have them. but then something happens to remind you that that was just your imagination and that reality is so much harsher. i love the way he creates this dreamy mood with the sustained piano and the recorder/pipe woteva it is, and the reversed notes. |

| Silverchair – Without You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
everyone seems to be seeing this as quite an uplifting songs about love, but for me ive always seen it as quite a painful song of frustration. IT starts so jollily, as does the chorus, with colourful words like "smiles", "brighter" "sun through the trees" "polystyrene hat". But by the end of the chorus and progressively through the song, these happy visual images are contrasted and then overthrown by darker images. For instance, "blooming [:)] like winter [:(]" shows teh contrast between the ideal and the realistic. Again, "False light and ashes". Actually I just noticed those words False Light, as if hes just had the realisation that his hope for this perfect love for this woman can not be fulfilled. By the end, all he can do is repetetively cry, "without you", in a way that moves me every time i hear it. and then the disjointed ending where what he wants just wont seem to work like they seem like they should. Also if you have the album you will know that there is a minute long sustained harmonious... chord... thing... i think this is like to say how this yearning for this person just carries on past the point where you wud feel comfortable with it, but I'm still not sure... probably jsut pretentious and for the sake of it but hey :) |
