I don't have a chalice, but if I had one, I would definately enjoy it with this song.

Slayer – Disciple Lyrics 18 years ago
I love this song... The lyrics are so simple and mediocre as any, but at the same time, this song doesn't care and kicks your ass anyway. It's really blunt but when you're pissed, you have to admit, this is how your thinking goes... You hate the world and everybody in it.

Slayer just said we we all were thinking.

KMFDM – Hau Ruck Lyrics 18 years ago
This song must be the beginning of the end for long-time KMFDM fans who stuck it out through the huge change of pace that was Attak and WWIII.

The message I hear most about this album is that without Raymond Watts, KMFDM can no longer even make a tolerable album.

KMFDM – Spiritual House Lyrics 18 years ago
I think you are reading way too much into this song... Perhaps there is some underlying meaning I don't notice in this song, but like much other KMFDM, I think this song is more to just give an impression of something.

I think they are sort of parodying trance music in a sense that this song is really loose and mellow, and the lyrics also give the feeling of there not really being much to the song other than to disconnect from reality.

Maybe my stab at it was as far off as yours, though.

Fear Factory – Cyberwaste Lyrics 18 years ago
I think Fear Factory is a great band, but this song seems like it must be a joke. "Cyberscreen"... Like a computer monitor? Give me a break.

I think the band, instead of caring, should not. They're just feeding the fire and making horrible music with mediocre lyrics at the same time.

They say "Nothing you say matters to us," but actions speak louder than words; which makes this song a complete irony.

Depeche Mode – Master And Servant Lyrics 19 years ago
I disagree with the comment about S&M, and maybe I take it a little bit too seriously... This song is about a D/s relationship, with no real references that suggest that it involved Sadism, Masochism, Bondage, or Discipline. While these things are commonly used together, they are not all the same thing.

Also, I think the song is awesome, it's definately one of my favorites from Depeche Mode. I rarely hear any songs with relation to BDSM, and when I have found one it's by Depeche Mode, awesome. I like BDSM, this song, and Depeche Mode, it's all fantastic.

KMFDM – Leid Und Elend Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm surprised more people didn't comment about this song, it's awesome. Maybe it's because of the German language. The song's lyrics are as great at the sound of the German language in song. For me, this song is right up there with Anarchy in greatness.

Also, when I type German (which I rarely do) I don't type any accent marks because they aren't on my keyboard. A German friend of mine didn't believe me on that, but American keyboards don't have any accents on them.

KMFDM – WWIII Lyrics 19 years ago
Fae, I think you should realize that this is a song which is supposed to show their basic feeling towards a bunch of things rather than an actual declaration of war. "I declare war on the world" doesn't sound like something they actually planned on doing.

The message I feel is in those lines is that they are annoyed with the world, and they are mocking Bush by saying they will declare war on it because it is something they feel should be done differently or improved. Same with war on drugs, stupidity, MTV, etc....

So, I don't think it's really illogical, or at least I don't think it should be interpretted as such, since as you suggested, I do think this songs messages are intentional.

KMFDM – Anarchy Lyrics 19 years ago
First off, I will say that I love this song. It is probably what got me addicted to KMFDM. The vocals done especially made me wanting more, even though how they are so amazing here is hard to describe. Bottom line, I think this is the greatest song they've ever done, and I think it's very influential, too.

As for its meaning, I think it should be very clear the message KMFDM is saying about Anarchy, and what it is to them:
Gospel of rage/Faction of hate/Deviate from the absolute/Born of revenge/Raised on cement/Chaos created government

I find all of that to be parallel to Anarchy. Is not anarchy a government created from Chaos? I think also that Anarchy would require a lot of rage to be able to create. Especially in our state right now, if we were to even try to embrace the idea of anarchy, it would be because of our disdain for our current government, rather than because anarchy is a viable or reasonable solution.

Also, the bulk of the song seems to be saying about how hard his situation is, which is probably caused by the government, and that anarchy would be a solution to his problems. Really, the song takes a perspective from somebody who clearly wants anarchy, "Wake me up in Anarchy". But I do not feel that KMFDM was trying to send a message that they are taking this point of view, but merely trying to convey a message in general about anarchy.

One thing I can't figure out is this:
"I made a god out of blood
Not superiority"
The only interpretation I can come up with is that it means the government is "God" and it would then be a government directly reflecting man(blood) rather than a heirarchy.

KMFDM – Dogma Lyrics 19 years ago
Overall a pretty funny song, but I don't know why people are acting like it's the word of God... Who cares?

I think the vocals in this song sucked, but they get the job done. The majority of the lyrics, while they might fit other people's ideas, I generally disagree with. It's not surprise people will jump on how great this song is because of its pessimism, which I don't mind, but it's boring.
