This is one beautiful song ,yet so laid back and cool also.
Let me bore you for a minute with my 'lucid dreaming story' Back In high school i always went to sleep with my radio on and slept into mid day during the holidays.
One time i has this dream that spun me out ,i could hear this song in the dream and i was walking along a glistening shoreline the kind you see in computer games or sc-fi movies. Me and a friend were just walking along on this shoreline and i awoke to find that the song was playing on the radio.
I thought being such a spaced out song it fitted the dream.No drugs involved either!!!!!

I think this song could have many meanings love,birth,death,life,drugs?!
Although Patton allegedy never did drugs,as mentioned before keyboardist Roddy Bottum was a longtime
user.With the lyrics,cover work and band history you can see how people may make the drug assumption.
Either way this is magical song,yes very spiritual.
