It's a song about two people who couldn't be together. The person talking in it did something to end it, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The other person has moved on, gone on with his life. The speaker is still having trouble admitting it was love even though she's taking some comfort in the fact that is was. Beautiful song. Reminds me of a very beautiful person. |

I too have felt this way and share your gratitude that there is someone out there poetic enough to put it all into words. How is it that being able to externalize our feelings into words helps so much sometimes? Of course I put my own experience into this song and see it more as a relationship that couldn't work. She's moving on, growing cold and distant, and he's still holding on, wondering when the storm passed him by. |

I always have this image of some mysterious figure that was in his life. He realizes to late that there could have been something there and he missed it. He'd do anything to get that back but has finally come to terms that it won't ever happen. I've certainly found that feeling in my life so I relate deeply to it. Especially the lonely imagery of the falling snow. Amazing song, more people should know about Tom McRae. |
