This song is about exactly what it says - he was arrested with a small amount of weed and, as he was from a somewhat middle-class family his parents were shocked and appalled. Creepily enough, exactly the same thing happened to me when I was 15. And the Police call weed 'blow'. That's what they called it when I was in this situation. It's one of those things that some people just say differently. The term 'blow' for cocaine is generally an American term anyway

this is indeed a great song. to me, this song is about passing from one era to the next. "we wear the same clothes 'cos we feel the same", meaning that you try to think to yourself that your time is still around. i can imagine this is how damon felt entering the 00's and having the 90's britpop scene vanish into uncoolness. of course blur dealt with that well - it's oasis that are refusing to evolve and adapt

i reckon this song is about cocaine and how it can affect the most innocent of people. people used to take cocaine with a silver spoon and cocaine was a widely used drug in the 60s. and the beatles are infamous for drug-related lyrics as you may know.
