Maynard is expressing his, to put it lightly, dislike of the people of Hollywood and others. The line "see you down in Arizona Bay" and the constant repetition of "learn to swim" and the name of the song itself "aenema" which is a combination of the album's name "aenima" and the act of rinsing clean one's colon, an "enema," suggests that he wants an earthquake or some other cataclysmic event to take California and submerge it in the Pacific Ocean, thus washing away all the filth in California. |

To correct aspacemonkey, the character played by R. Lee Ermey in Stanley Kubrik's Full Metal Jacket would be Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. Sergeant Baker is not exactly the same man. He does use the "steers and queers" bit used on Tex, but this is just supposed to be a generic drill sergeant or maybe even someone Les Claypool or someone from Primus might have known. |

Les Claypool is far too goofy to be hellspawn. He just plays that bass like a demon.
This song is embued with Les's more childish humor. Quite a hilarious song with a great bassline though. |

OpinionHead is correct! Tom Morello co-wrote and did the guitars for this absolutely AWESOME song. I have always been a big fan of RATM, by the way.
Anyway, as said many times before, this song is all about the United States Government and the chokehold they have on the American people. The government is trying to publicize our private lives and privatize public institutions. |

Fred Durst is definitely a shit-stain on "Antipop" if you ask me. I am amazed he had anything to do with Primus at all... What with the name of the album and all.
Anyway, this song is relating the stories of people who basically killed themselves huffing rather nasty stuff.

This song expresses Claypool's hatred for the get-rich-quick discardable music that is the "pop" genre. He was put on this earth to destroy the pop stars by taking their money and fans away. If only he alone could. If only. |
