How many possible meanings can one song have!? This is the sort of song i think mozart would be proud of... the lyrics are deep, meaningful and clever, the music is incredible, weaivng in out of each other (polyphonic i do believe) and its just 10 minutes of perfection that passes as if it were 2... i dont even know where to begin interpreting this song, theres way too much at once... so ill just leave a review, and the same comment about the sound of the heartbeat heard inside the womb at the start (listen to it with headphones) |

Yeah I guess your'e right that people are learning, even if it is a bitching session, but I odnt come on here to read people trying to shout right at each other about a song, i come on here to read the interpretations people have. Yes, if you have an opinion, then it should be expressed, but that doesnt seem to be the case... a lot of people are hiding there insults amongst and opinion, and then caiming that it is in fact their own interpretation of a song. Either way its disappointing seeing the way this thing is used sometimes.... excuse the somewhat crappy name, I made this account very quickly and that was the first thing that came to my head.... enough of my side....

lol, trexor probably notices this too.... on all the tool lyrics the entire forum degenerates into an argument about whos right.... surely the message from most politically/ ethically/ religiously/ whatever based songs is that we should accept each others thoughts and ideas, and someone thought that a site where you can put your interpretation of a song would be a good idea, a sharing of thoughts, but its turned into a verbal wrestling ring... i mean, come on, people dont wanna come on here and read about people bitching to each other, but 'The Piece' did get caned lol that was enjoyable. yeah... just use the site for its intended purpose, save the insults you have for me for another time, cos i dont give a damn what you think of my opinions, theyre mine.

ok... to people who think this is a bad cover first things off..... the main change billy made is to cahnge it to a minor key... therefore, its still practically the same song.... and those with the ignorance to call it a bad cover must have little musical talent in them because the way this is arranged makes it beautiful, chilling and compelling. and... theyve also changed it to suit the current state of the world. to me, its showing how everyones been so desensitised to violence and the horrific culture weve made for ourselves, which might be why the video has been directed the way it has. thank you for your time. |

i know how stupidly late this is and that it will probably be disrgarded by many but hey, here goes....
mr/ mrs jimmy hoffa, your comments saying that that christians are possibly better off listening to tool seem a tad absurd to me. if thats how you feel then fine, im happy for you for thinking for yourself about the issue. however, i have a few gripes about your argument:
1) ive noticed that there are countless tool fans who have posted on here on other songs and have said tool is one of their favourite bands,/ maynards a genius etc. therefore, that seems to weaken your argument. if a christian or a hindu or whatever religion finds tools music offensive, then its up to them whether they want to continue to listen to it or not, i dont think you shold sway other peoples opinions with a one sided argument. (just realised mines a bit one sided lol)
2) maynards lyrics should NEVER be taken for their face value and their initial meaning because that shows ignorance on the part of the listener
3) this aslo depends on how the MUSIC makes you feel, not just the lyrics that maynard writes and sings, but the music that danny, adam and justin perform for your pleasure.

Ok... i dont know if anyone else has noticed, but at the start, theres a sound effect hidden in there which is supposedly the sound of the heartbeat the foetus (spelling?) hears in the womb... my brother had a cuddly toy with this noise in when he was a baby and thats what it said n te booklet. thank you for you time, and apologies for the emo name it was the only thing i could think of lol |
