definatley my favorite on the final cut. i love the part about being "tongue tied and terrified we learned how to pray, now our feelings run deep and cold as the clay." to me, its like we had all these strange emotions as children and they were blinded by faith. this part really means a lot to me i dont know i just really agree with it. in church its like this hypocracy thing: your told to feel comforted by divinity but at the same time your kinda terrified of it and told to feel really shity about your sins.
the part about "feelings run deep and cold as the clay" and the chorus "do you remeber me..." kinda go hand in hand. to me its saying that you have burried and supressed your emotions. the chorus is like your hidden and burried emotions from childhood or whenever trying to force themselves to the surface and saying "hey there..its me your emotions. remember? why are you supressing me? dont you think you should deal with your problems instead of just covering them up?" ("dont you think we should be closer?")
i dont know. it all makes sense in my head. it might not come across clear its just what i think. whatever its not like anyone is actually reading this no one has like even heard of this album. damn. oh well. |

bleedingheartartist..i totally agree with you. when i first heard the korn cover the words "how dare you" just repeated over and over in my head. wow i cant even think about it. tear. ye anyways i dont think the wall was about syd at all. they pretty much covered that issue in wywh. to me "pink's" father i guess dying in war was the building block or first incident that created "the wall" |

i love the french at the end. this was probably my favorite off the final cut. not my favorite album tho. probably cus im a youngin and cant really relate to the content as well. but i like the fact that amlost nobody has heard of it. |

ye i definately agree with the mental patient meaning. everything about that makes sense and it was my first impression. but i dont really think its about a nurse that is hooking him up with pills at all. the patient is just dillusional about having an affair with this nurse and hes like hey and you bring me pills(as in her job)..im in love with you. i think its pretty funny..at least this theory. and at the end "pills in a little cup... say hello to the rugs topography" i dont know it jus seems to me like hes having this dillusion and then he is given his drugs and kinda gets a reallity check while lying on the floor and medicated. that might not be right. anyway i think this song is pretty amusing.
oh yea.. and by the way for you simple minded listeners out there maynard never personally dealt with extreme addiction. i forgot who said that earlier but whoever did..its not true. read his interviews. |

yea i definately see the suicidal thing but its just whenever i listen to this song i think about addiction. like "disconnect and self-destruct one bullet at a time" is a metaphor for heroin. and he tells this person who is addicted to do what they will but just dont do it around him. it also fits with the whole attention thing. like this person knows that their actions or suicidal and they are purposly doing it for attention. i dont know. definatley know some people like that. just what i think. |

gilmour is an absolute gennnnnius. by the way..this is a true story: i was hitting a road in my car with a couple of friends and i had just put this song on. well the kid in the passanger seat PRESSED THE FAST FOWARD BUTTON to skip to the vocal part. wow. BIG NO NO! i turned right around and took him to his house. definately never chillen with him again. anyone who does that should be shot in the face after being tied to a chair with headphones and ace of bace on repeat! sry im usually not a violent person but this was just a discrace to all that pink floyd. |
