| Switchfoot – Stars Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This song is about something called "general revelation", which refers to evidence of God in nature. When Jon Foreman looks at the night sky, he can see that there must be a creator, hence the line "When I look at the stars, I see someone else". And when he says "I’ve been thinking about everyone, everyone who looks so lonely", he is suggesting that they need God -- "I've been thinking about the meaning of resistance / Of a hope beyond my own / And suddenly the infinite and penitent begin to look like home" |

| U2 – I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
To me this song exemplifies how music can tell a story as well or better than words can. Even without the words, you could still get the sense that there is a longing. The music fades in at the beginning and out at the end. Also, the chord is incomplete. The lyrics add even more meaning. Bono talks about how he has experienced so much on earth, and knows God, but still wants to know him more. |

| Relient K – Pressing On Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
First of all, Punk_in_Drublic - the line you're referring to is this: I'm Pressing on all my distress is going, going gone. He is talking about how is distress is gone when he is with God. Secondly, check out this passage from the Bible: "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." -Philippians 3:12 This song is about pressing on towards the goal of becoming like Christ. Peace. |

| Lifehouse – Hanging By A Moment Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I can relate to this song, because I have had moments in my life where I feel God's presence so clearly, and then in tougher times I have doubts. But I know he is there and loves me, so in a sense I have to "hang by a moment" because of my lack of faith. | |
| The Juliana Theory – Into The Dark Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song has to be about falling into sin and away from God - falling "into the dark." He talks about how he is offering to give his hand and help, but they are refusing to reach out and grab it. Maybe he struggles with election/predestination. On a different note, I really love the version on Love. It is so much better - such a powerful song. |

| The Juliana Theory – White Days Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think the band is using the idea of being in a blizzard as a metaphor for times in our life that are "almost a nightmare." This is hands down my favorite juliana theory song. |

| Switchfoot – You Already Take Me There Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think the chorus is very powerful: You already take me there Heaven in the here and now I think it's talking about how God grants us a certain peace while we are still on earth. |

| Switchfoot – Evergreen Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is about "living the life" all the time. Just as evergreens stay green all year round, we need to be on fire for Christ in everything we do. | |
| Switchfoot – Amy's Song Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| by my definition of emo music, this is far from being classified as such. on the contrary, this song is all about hope. musically, the song is inspirational as well - it is not depressing in the least. it is about changing the world. | |
| Bleach – Heartbeat Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is about being so close to God that you can hear his heartbeat. I love this song! | |
