Ok. SO all of you guys are overthinking this song. Me and my friend earlier found out the TRUE meaning. It's about the journey of a pizza. the "campaign" is the whole experience. the cargo bay is the oven, mummified circutry is just talking about the oven etc. Now, the one armed scissor is the pizza cutter and "cut away" is like someone yelling COME ON MAN HURRY UP CUTTING THE FOOKIN PIZZA RAWR!!! Yep. So there you guys have it. The real meaning of one armed scissor. Enjoy!

This song is definitely better live, but the mess of horns and such towards the end sounds awesome. It really conveys a sense of chaos that fits perfectly. I think this song is about everyone's difficulties with each other creating one crazy mess. Oh, and I'm awful at guitar. My friends have no patience teaching me it. I can't even play the bass part in this song!

Haha, I love that people think Jethro Tull is the dude. I used to think that, too. Well, I have to agree with BrainDamage, because if you actually buy the album it explains the entire theme. Having Aqualung as the main character reminds me of Pink from Pink Floyd's the Wall. Concept albums are great!

I also heard it was about his son. Seeing as Hail to the Thief is full of songs about the world descending into darkness, as Floris mentioned in his quote above, I always felt it was about Thom wanting his son to rise above all the horrors out there.
