Story of the Year – In Her Bedroom Lyrics 20 years ago
My favorite SOTY song. I think this is about a love/hate relationship. In the begining of the song, he's aware that he sometimes hates her, but loves her just as much. They both weant the relationship to work, and obviously not all relationships are easy.

"Not every movie has a happy ending
But frame by frame
I learn to love you
When I see flowers bloom in your footsteps"

They're both going to have to compromise for this relationship, and learn to love each other. It's a very sweet song, showing that relationships obviously are going to take work.

Oh, and the best part of this song is the last 4 minutes.

Bright Eyes – Haligh, Haligh, a Lie, Haligh Lyrics 20 years ago
Am I the only person who didn't hear this song as their first Bright Eyes song? it is a very pretty song, but I don't think it's the best. And the only part I really love is

"I will give you only one reply,
I know not who I am
But I talk in the mirror
To the stranger that appears.
Our conversations are circles
and always one sided, nothing is clear.
Except we keep coming back
to this meaning that I lack.
He says the choices were given
now I must live them
or just not live, but do you want that?"

Actually, Loose leaves was the first song I ever heard. Damn. I love that song.

Bright Eyes – Untitled Lyrics 21 years ago
I'm always confused as to whether this song is about an ex-byofriend that became a best friend, seeing her go thorugh another relationship, even though he still wants her. Or if it is just about a friend who's in love with her.

"But I’m still sick with empathy because I was stood in his place
I spent a year quietly dying while he let go and ignored her"

I think this is saying that while she was going through the relationship with this other guy, he treated her horribly, and the guy had to deal with comforting her, even though he wanted her so much, and seeing her love someone who hurt her made him die inside.

This song is kind of sad, as most of Bright Eyes songs are, but very pretty at the same time. Because, in the end, everyone knows what it's like to feel like this.
