| Taking Back Sunday – Error Operator (Louder Now version) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think thecrowing83's interpretation is probably right...but when I heard first this song it made me think of an abortion. "There's been an accident" as in the baby was an accident, and then the stuff about murder and we can't go back, as in they can't change what they've done. Hmm, I'm probably wrong though. | |

| Taking Back Sunday – Blue Heaven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this song is about cheating. He is cheating on his gf with another girl, but he is still suspicious of other men in her life. Well that's what the line "My double standardized suspicion" makes me think. | |
| Motion City Soundtrack – Feel Like Rain Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I'm pretty sure this song is about cutting, even though it does seem too obvious. It's about being stuck in a sort of self-destructive phase. He really doesn't wanna stop, or be put out of his misery. I think it's about being too scared, or probably just too apathetic to commit suicide. Like, "it'd be good to just die, but I'm afraid of change and it's too much of a hassle" He'd much rather just continue cutting, cos it's easy, it makes him feel better and he's probably addicted (SI is addictive) I think this is my favourite verse: "Though we feel let down By the same old autumn breathing, Winter's curse is just around the bend" -i think autumn is just sort of a neutral season, and winter is cold and harsh. So his life is "autumn" before he hurts himself and then it's a more exciting "winter" ... I wish i had come up with a better way of explaining that :P Anyway...the only part i dont really understand is the "say something, finally we're alone" part. Makes me think of a sort of wannabe Romeo and Juliet thing, with 2 people sitting in a room with razor blades, waiting for something to interupt their joint-suicide :P |

| Fall Out Boy – Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Division cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Yes. This song eats ass. I love Fall Out Boy but, goddamn, what were they thinking? I didnt want to listen to the original, for fear that it would be totally awesome like everyone says it is, and thus proving that FOB murdered a work of genius. But I downloaded it anyway and was, in a way, pleasantly surprised. The original eats just as much ass as the cover! I felt sick to the stomach listening to it. Of course the cover sucks, FOB had shit all to work with. Their style of music is completely different to whatever the hell the original is meant to be. It makes about as much sense as them doing a 50 cent cover... -Thoroughly sickened by entire experience. |

| The Dresden Dolls – Slide Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I think this song is definately about the rape of a little girl. The orange old man bribed her with pennies, so she wouldnt tell or anything. I think the references to growing older are a metaphor for how she lost her innocence. She grew up too fast. "Past getting brighter, light growing weaker" - i think that line means as she got older she realised what happened to her as a child, and she becomes depressed and all self-destructive because of it. She turns to drugs to help her forget, but she can't erase what happened to her - "her eyes are now closing her sleeves are unrolling up past her head and her veins are all showing not that she noticed she's thoroughly focused on one old man who's laughing" I think she sees him as laughing because of how little it meant to him. The abuse has affected her so badly, years after it happened, and the orange man probably has no idea of the impact he had on her life. He gets off scott-free, while she has to live forever with what he did to her. |

| Wow...I'm the first...well I'm not quite sure what this song is about. Maybe taking advantage of someone? Yeah ... that makes sense :) | |
| Killing Heidi – Weir? Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Yes, I agree. Definately about leaving school. Not just thinking about the future, but remembering all the times you had in high school with your friends etc. | |
| Killing Heidi – Mascara Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I agree with Juzo. This song is saying that non-conformists are stupid. They conform to their own ridiculous non-conformist standards, focus entirely on being seen by others as a rebel, and accomplish nothing. I think this is one of the most intelligent songs ever written. Yay killing heidi | |
| My Chemical Romance – The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I know this has nothing to do with what the song's about really, but does the line "you've spun this chamber dry" remind anyone else of the story of Rumplestiltskin? | |
| The Used – Sound Effects And Overdramatics Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is my favourite song off in love and death...but i dont really know what its about. The more i try to figure it out the more confused i get. It really does sound like gay sex and drugs though...sex for drugs perhaps? "When your pants came off and I turned you over" I dont know what else that line could be referring to but gay sex. Also after the bridge he screams what sounds to me like "worship me now!" and there is some other stuff I can't seem to make out towards the end that aren't on here...help me out anyone? |

| The Used – Cut Up Angels Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I personally think that this song is about rape, and death is a metaphor. The girl has suffered previous sexual abuse, and when they have sex it brings back painful memories for her. It seems as though she thought she was ready and gave her concent, but then regrets it and changes her mind afterwards - " And you lied to the angels, Said I stabbed you to death " He just really wants to get into her pants (This lust to my brain almost feels like a gun) despite the amonut of pain he is obviously causing her - "Watch me kick out the chair...And laugh as you just hung there " He probably has tried to convince her that its all ok, even though it's painful for her, because they are in "love". They have to take the bad, otherwise there wouldn't be any relationship at all. I think that fits in pretty well...except for the line "Like I cut up your angels, you stabbed me to death" I don't quite understand that bit...but its my favourite part...Bert sounds really hot when he sings it ;) |

| Skillet – Open Wounds Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| wow thats really cool, i never would have thought to look at it that way. in my opinion this song is about someone being more emotionally abused by someone else, and it leading to self-harm (my self-destruction is all your fault) | |
| Brand New – Tautou Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song certainly is beautiful. I personally think it is about being in love with someone, and it not working out at all. He knows he just needs to move on but he's still in love with her and is kinda trapped. The song is just two simple lines, but they are so powerful it's amazing. | |
