I'm so sick of everyone thinking that all songs have some secret drug meaning..the line "sail on silver girl" is NOT about heroin ... from the mouth of Paul Simon, "My girlfriend at the time was particularly saddened upon finding a few grey hairs in her brush, lamenting that she was getting older. I wrote that lyric as a tribute and inside joke to her. I don't know how the heroin connection rumor got started. The song is basically about friendship." ....played this song in hs band and i've always loved it..more so as time moves on..the music just gives me a happy little chill..lol.... |
