| Muse – Time Is Running Out Lyrics | 21 years ago |

"I wanted freedom Bound and restricted I tried to give you up But I'm addicted" this is the verse that convinced me of what the song was about. This verse shows the addiction to materialistic values that we all have and how hard living without technology is, true freedom is not possible with these values. "Now that you know I'm trapped Sense of elation You'd never dream of Breaking this fixation" this is quite similar to the last but shows that the people on the inside need us to miantain the lifestyle they want. because without us there would be no armys no workers no consumers. "You will squeeze the life out of me" they push us to extrems too. "How did it come to this?" I want to know. last point, the video shows (what I think is) an underground bunker with world leaders gathered inside. these people then seemingly for no reason start stripping. I think this represents the perversion that these people obviousley suffer from. ...man that took longer that I thought it would |

I cant believe that no one has addressed this song from my point of view; that it is about the manipulation of peoples oppinions to make an entirley materialistic human race and also the obvious perversion of our worlds leaders. Hear me out man: "I wanna break this spell That you've created" hinting towards the dream world that has been pulled over our eyes that we openly accept, mostly without question. "I wanna play the game I want the friction" possibly Matt wants a kind of authority in order to make a diffrence. (...not convincing eh?). "Bury it I won't let you bury it I won't let you smother it I won't let you murder it You can't push it underground You can't stop it screaming out" I'm prity damn sure that 'it' refers to truth. Most of the lines are prity straight forward but the one that talks about 'it' being pushing underground may seem confusing at first but I think it talks about a select few who are alone the only people deserving enough in the eyes of who ever is incharge to receive the absolute truth, and that this minority are underground, this may seem a little far fetched but given matt's obsession with conspiricies... |

| Muse – Hysteria Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| yeah, i agree with tremadog. I think its about being blinded by desire and the hooker/stalker in the video is just an example. the band could have easilly decided to have some stock broker freaking out and loosing his money out of greed insted. but i think the choice of the former was better :) | |
| Muse – Apocalypse Please Lyrics | 21 years ago |

what I gather to be the meaning of this song most people already know but im guna post it because no one has addressed it directly "declare this an emergency come on and spread a sense of urgency" people just dont realise just how utterly screwed we are! and the government of our god forsaken nations dont want us to shit our selves because of it, they dont think we can cope knowing were all sat pissing around on death row. "come on and change the course of history" which along with the rest of the song is telling people: 'we are screwed, so stop working toward buying yourself some gucci sunglasses. get off your fat american ass and help fix the peoblem we've all had a hand in creating. otherwise WE WILL ALL DIE. ...but just not so forward |

| Muse – Sing for Absolution Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I think that when the singer screams 'sing for absolution' he is not asking for personal forgivness like some have suggested, but is telling the masses to accept the undeniable fate that awates them. there's nowhere left to hide in no one to confide the truth runs deep inside and will never die almost as if to say 'alright guys, were well and truley rogered, all we can do now is sit and 'sing for absolution' and somehow hope that evrething will sort its self out'. Fading off topic a little but its funny how people only look to religon when there so screwed that no man/woman can help and only some kind of devine intervention can possibly attempt to aid. earler when i spoke of the 'undeniable fate' this is in refrence to global warming lips are turning blue (dead, maby drowned or frozen people) a kiss that can't renew (possibly this kiss of death we delivered to our planet?) one more point, in the video there is a funky kind of billboard as the band flee 'earth II' that says 'be prepared the ice age is coming' this backs up what i said previousley about global warming. |
