| Haste the Day – Ros King Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I knew christ. he was a silly guy. Always drinking his "water" and making us call him the J-Man. He lives in a hut in my backyard now. | |

people need to stop enforcing their religious views on everyone else as well as their views in general. Not everyone "WORSHIPS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST HURR NURR HURR" You just look like an ass by saying that. |

| This Providence – My Beautiful Rescue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Everyone turns music made by christians into bible verses. I think people read into this a little too deep.. I honestly beleive it's to a girl he loves. The wash my hands line is dwarfed by the "falling more and more" refrain. It seems to be so romantically phrased. | |

I don't see why people so stronly see the need to put out every one of their religious views instead of just analyzing the song. "it's about god." Okay, that's fine. "It's about god, and that speaks to me because i'm a southern baptist and we think..." NO. |

No, this isn't just a "story". This is really ace enders talking about his life. He wrote this song for his wife. They got married either shortly after this CD came out or during it, I can't remember which. How awesome would it be to play a song that's been sold nationwide, written by you for your wife, at your wedding? I hope he did. |

I agree. This song is seriously the worst thing I've ever heard by GCH. Travis made this his CD now. The drummer is so talented and completely understated on this album. Comparing this to parpercut chronicles is like comparing a turd with a steering wheel to a mercedes benz. They could've at least hired a whiney asshole who could sing with out going out of tune. |

Don't take offense to this, but this totally catches me as a song that would end up in garden state. Just a thought. Great lyrics, awesome melodies. you've all said the right things already, so yeah. |

The most remarkable thing about the vocalist is that when he screams, he screams in notes, not just A-Melodic screams like most bands. You can really hear it on the transition of this song too. Amazing song. |

In general: It's about the emotional swings max has. This whole song is a representation of a depressed, cynical phase. He feels disgusted that he's become content with such a jaded day to day life, and sees everything in an apathathetic, pessimistic view. He judges things for both face value and for the deeper meanings. This song is amazing because it can be taken both literally and metaphorically. The building of intensity (volume and controlled feedback and the likes) are another amazing contributor to the meaning... Before "i watch my neighbors son" it builds to where you think your speakers might explode. I could listen to it again and again and again. |

| Say Anything – Most Beautiful Plague Lyrics | 19 years ago |

When he says "And I'll Give this curse to you", I really think he's talking about giving a girl herpes or something, but that's more of a fleeting thought than anything. I mean, in a vague way it could work because in the end he talks about sex, but the passover argument is far more valid. There could be parallels between all of them though. |

I think it's about weed overuse. "i've got all my friends here they haven't been talking as of lately they've all found new bro's and babies I have smoked away my pride" His connections with his friends have all died off because he is simply wasting his time on drugs. The whole vibe of the song is depressed and bored, Much like the aftereffects of marijuana. It's about how he feels he's wasting his life, losing touch with things, becoming stupider (book references, and the title), and how He can't stop, because weed is what helps him escape all these anxieties. Max is an angsty stoner, But that's why we love him. Great song. |

| Say Anything – Belt Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think the feather thing might be an allusion to how they used to tar and feather people who didn't pay their taxes. So like, by him being feathered it represents that he is suffering for standing up in what he beleives in, but he's stronger than that. Something to that extent | |

Remember how Romeo went to the apothecary (drug dealer) to get the poison? In one of the final scenes, after romeo had been out of the town for a several weeks "mourning" or whatever, he went to see this apothecary to get a vial of poison because he thought juliet was already dead; He planned on killing himself in her tomb. Well i think "Mr. Jones" may in some way serve as a representation of a modern day version of the apothecary, seeing as in the same stanza he also says "I think we would look great dead". Mr Jones Is going to medicate him some how. Idk, just a thought. That seems to be the part that throws people off the most. I think if this is really about romeo, the strange phone calls from the city part could be when he was exiled to Mantua and he received word from balthasar that juliet had died... Like he didn't want to believe it. I think if you read the sparknotes on it some parts of this song make a lot more sense. |
