i totally interpreted this song different than everyone else. i think its about war, actually. more specifically, the war in iraq. because of the "ghosts are now waiting for you" part. like the ghosts of the already slain iraqis. and "do we know when we fly?" as in do we know when they will be drafted and sent to war. "do we die?" as in when we get there, are we condemned to death? and dreaming is just a momentary escape from the war.
i probably have it all wrong but i just wanted to give my take on the lyrics.
i took the whole album to be politic based. |
