To the first two commenters: The beginning of this song is, at most, reminiscent of Harvester of Sorrow. I think you're full of bullshit and should stop making false accusations. A lot of metal sounds similar. And A Secret Place only sounds "similar" because they used a sitar or something that sounds like one. The riff on it is entirely different from Wherever I May Roam. |

It sounds like he says "Cronus", which would also make sense, because Cronus was the titan who held dominioon over time in Greek mythology. Chronos was the personification of time, I believe.
Though, I have heard from various sources that they were the same being.

Anyways, I don't really like punk that much. Old school is fine, but I feel that modern-day punk has... degenerated a bit. I like Green Day's older songs somewhat, but their newer stuff sounds too emo, from what I've heard. And I've only heard this and Boulevard of Broken Dreams, so I could be quite wrong. In conclusion, I'd rather listen to thrash metal and headbang. |

Perhaps what remains might be a desire to kill himself; If there is a cohesive storyline to the albums, maybe it's left over from The Downward Spiral if the character never actually killed himself. He's tried to do many things to numb the pain, possibly even drugs ("Kill my brain"), but nothing can make it stop. |
