its about falling in love young, but the right kinda love, the unconditional, everlasting love, that knows when its time to go, to "grow" up. romance is not so easy when its "time" to become part of the adult world. this song reminds me to keep a balance: falling less to impulse, yet not losing the innocence forever treasured in this special love. i think this is clear in the video. |

i totally had that interpretation, that pane=pain.
like when you arent aware of your own depression, but you know somethings not right, yet dont believe in the conditions 'they' want to lay on you? you do it your own way, while still tyring to put forth the pretty picture 'they' want to see. but soon, you start to loose focus on your own self-change, and find your pain is delusional.

shes a free spriit, "wings", he views vulnerability in her guilt for her non"moral" behavior and wants to latch onto an opportunity to control her and help slow her down, and it would do the same for him too, but its so against her/his human nature, that it be trying to deny entropy, but the benefits of love would outweigh the negatives of sacrafice, so its time to settle down, but both have to be willing, which this song is trying to convince |

i think perhaps its about the great relationship that could never be but never dies, the ultimate bittersweet ironic love... the theme of the LP is Love, after all, and I think White Days are the pure moments of that feeling.
other external factors (night) are preventing the Love condition from enduring, the way life is out there has rendered him cold, he needs her to turn on the heat to make him feel alive, they never spend time with each other, but as soon as they have contact, its like theyve never been apart (a 'room' in each others hearts), Their Love, it prevails, they are focusing on driving their vehicle, he wants to run away and feed the connection, try to conserve their Love, make it last, prevent reality from returning, the 'nightmare'. i think he says they made it 'nowehere with no time to spare' becuase theyve been living doing what they have to do to get by, living by other peoples standards, 'life isnt fair' and missed out on the time together that couldve built their relationship. they both know they must return to their ways because thats the way it is, they are distracted by rationality, perhaps logically the love will not survive, but the emotional connection is there and they will enjoy the drive, the run away into each others arms, until tommorrow comes. |

in my view, shes nuts in her own regard, and not ready to express the appreciation she has for him and she leaves cuz she doesnt want to take him for granted but she returns becuase hes so great to her and this polarity is in turn driving him nuts. the city is the connection they have, the relationship, and i think hes giving it a phsycial place because in order for her to be ready they need to be apart, hence, leaving the city |
