| Cat Stevens – Foreigner Suite (Excerpt) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| the song "heaven/where true love goes" he "made" as yusuf has the verse of the 15th-16th minute of this "foreigner suite" of 1973... and the rest/refrain is terrible | |
| Sarah Fimm – Story Of Us Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| very atmospheric sound but powerful lyrics, i love this song | |
| George Michael – John and Elvis Are Dead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| a poem based on a nice simple idea. well done | |
| Iron & Wine – Sodom, South Georgia Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Today most of us know Sodom as the city of perverse sexuality. but in a Christian belief i know it stands for anal sex and homosexualism. and also for incest relationships. so, in my opinion, it's not a very bad guess to think that the narrator was abused by his now dead father. south georgia may stand for the city where it happened. just another opinion. |

| Counting Crows – Hazy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i agree with raining in baltimore pt. II and adam's story is very mystical, too: not being able to figure out the chords?! well, maybe not at first but come on guys, you are musicians :))) ok, ok, you may have a look tab/chord sites if you wish :) the song! it moves under your skin like the "august..." songs did. file under: could but shouldn't have been an "august..." outtake august was so different for me that everytime the CC make a good song i think it should be on "august..." sorry... |
| Counting Crows – 99 Days Lyrics | 19 years ago |
absolutely beautiful! should have been on the "august..." album i thought when i heard it twice. very touching! then i found out (on lisa's annabegins site) that this is a the himalayans song, Adam's former band. and CC sort of covered it. but still, i mean it is an Adam song. one of the best of CC, a pity that so less people know about it. |
| Radio 4 – The Death Of American Radio Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this is a songwriting lesson for rock guitarists of the next generation! if you don't stand up and dance while this plays, there's something wrong with you! finest funky dance rock. |
| Athlete – Street Map Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i don't think it's a "make up song"... it feels like they haven't been together yet. anyway, doesn't change anything. it's beautifully simple (no bridge f.e.) but effective. a strange and sad way of believing. i listen to it at least 3 times a time. i can totally relive this feeling. great! |
| Ezio – Go Lyrics | 20 years ago |
another tale about "the one taken away by someone proper"... pain - as deep and beautiful it can be. after reading the lyrics it must be hard to resist to be curious about the music. i can tell you it is as good as the words. ezio: thanx for existing. :))) |
| Ezio – Angel Song Lyrics | 20 years ago |
sorry, I the the one taken away by someone proper"... pain - as deep and beautiful it can be." was meant for the song GO. a copy and paste failure. oooops... this one is a fairytail at its best. top ever storytelling or so. wonderful music and acoustic guitars. and of course a top song. |
| Ezio – Angel Song Lyrics | 20 years ago |
unbelievable i did propose ezio and had to copy 5-6 songlyrics from their website. it's somehow true what they say about being the "best kept secret of the music industry"... so then i love secrets. :)) (though not everything they do is as good as their top material.) but this is a top song. another epic about "the one taken away by someone proper"... pain - as deep and beautiful it can be. |
| Leah Andreone – Lamentation Lyrics | 20 years ago |
perfect piano song... the mood is everchanging; leah slowly lifts you up and then suddenly lets you hit the floor... all the major feelings you go through during a relationship are put in this song... in the right order! the piano playing reminds me of the scene at the end of GREENCARD a few more of these songs and leah would have been another tori or alanis... |
| Leah Andreone – You don't exist Lyrics | 20 years ago |
"you don't exist if I don't see" a very sad song if you read this but there also anger coming out of her voice... leah at her best.... |
| Joseph Arthur – In The Sun Lyrics | 20 years ago |
one of my top 20 of all time... four chords are enough for a song - a living proof for that... but the lyrics... i can so 100%ly relate to this... it's incredible... i wish every one could relate to this because this is such a good feeling after the pain of loss... |
| Ed Harcourt – God Protect Your Soul Lyrics | 20 years ago |
this is a song very hard to be topped by a singer-songwriter... (even ed couldn't do that yet :) yes, one of the best singer-songwriter songs ever... |
| Charlotte Martin – Beautiful Life Lyrics | 20 years ago |
" you can't judge the love by the lover" oh yes: so simple but so wise... i just love good positive songs because they're so rare. this is one of the best... |
| Ani DiFranco – You Had Time Lyrics | 20 years ago |
ironic: i adore ani's guitar-playing but my favorite song of hers is a piano song, it's this one... most of us were in that position: "i need time to think it over"... i hate to hear that, haven't heard it often and never said it... what exactly do they need? time or the process of thinking? it's mostly none of them... |
| Elisa – Come Speak To Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
italy rocks! i like the italian version better... (i don't speak italian by the way but i love the language) it's called Luce (Tramonti A Nord Est) |
| Emilíana Torrini – Unemployed In Summertime Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i was older than 21 but i know that feeling... every one should be unemployed at summertime every once in a while... good to have a song about it... better to have a very good one... |
| The Unbelievable Truth – Higher Than Reason Lyrics | 20 years ago |
the best song of the truth we can't believe in... get the album, it's still a secret garden... |
| Songs: Ohia – Tigress Lyrics | 20 years ago |
what an opening: " it's difficult not to worry about what happens next" but you have to hear it... perfect work. songs: ohia never managed to write a song like this again... |
| Reamonn – Supergirl Lyrics | 20 years ago |
you don't want to be that girl in the song... that i promise... she reminds me of the woman Kate Winslet played in eternal sunshine... one of the best songs ever coming from germany... |
| Kent – Stay With Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Is there any one who hasn't been the dog in the relationship? iif yes, poor you... kent's guys have been and created this perfect song out of that emotion... i once listened to it 5-10 times at a time... my neighbors upstairs (mother and daughter both) asked me which song this was. now we both listen to it once in a while... the whole album is great but this song is "greater" :)) |
| Antimatter – Over Your Shoulder Lyrics | 20 years ago |
no one wrote one word about antimatter yet? sad! anyway... here we go: out of the dusts of anathema, antimatter rose... and the dust of anathema is enough to provide all that's necessary to give birth to perfect songs... this is -in my opinion- the best of antimatter... a perfect chorus riff... makes you want to sing... i learned to sing and play it on guitar right after hearing it... there's also an acoustic version with the male singer only... both recordings are perfect. i can't decide which is better... |
| Sophia – Another Trauma Lyrics | 20 years ago |
wonderful acoustic guitars... very down and deep but hopeful and honest... minimal... but less is more... that the proof... you won't listen to coldplay again after hearing this... :)) |
| The Gathering – Saturnine Lyrics | 20 years ago |
wow, no woman has ever described the pain of loss so bold and perfectly... the gathering's best! you feel like you've left her... and want to slip in the song and say "sorry but you know i still love you"... i think a very good answer to this song can be sophia's "i left you"... than we have 2 sides of the story... |
| Riverside – I Believe Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i'm writing from istanbul/turkey and have a wish to polish politicians: please support your music more! unbelivable this riverside is flowing grom your speakers under your skin... the lyrics: so positive until you hear the last line... the pain hides in the last line. but you fell it from the beginning... |
| Katatonia – Criminals Lyrics | 20 years ago |
katatonia's best so far... atmospheric groups can't/don't write a song like this everyday... (except for anathema, i believe THEY can!) |
| Sophia – Oh My Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
tori amos' strange spiced with irony and rhytym... good to dance with... |
| Sophia – I Left You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i'm sorry and proud at the same time to be the first to write about this song. It is one of my Top 20. The words are so deep and the music fits so perfectly... It's not one of those "you left me" songs we have and will have millions and billions of. It is a "i left you" song with great intensity. It is about how you must leave while you're still in love. Sophia is a very very promising band. Watch them if you like Coldplay & Co. |
| Tocotronic – Letztes Jahr im Sommer Lyrics | 20 years ago |
something's not alright! what is it? that something i once had and am missing now... nice words to describe this feeling. and the music is one of tocotronic's best songs. |
| Tocotronic – So jung kommen wir nicht mehr zusammen Lyrics | 20 years ago |
short and simple but very impressive... no refrain, no bridge! the straight feeling arrives somewhere very deep with the help of the dirty and melancholic fade-out guitar solo... |
| Tocotronic – Die Idee ist gut, doch die Welt noch nicht bereit Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i've studied in germany (6 years) and this song is best at describing the germany i've experienced. this is the best german song i've ever heard. the (german) lyrics are a lot better than the beatles' eleanor rigby, the message is the same... |
| Counting Crows – Round Here Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| the highest level of the storytelling-songwriting! | |
| Queen – The Show Must Go On Lyrics | 21 years ago |
this is my favorite song of all times... my nr. 1! imagine: it is sad, wise and hopeful at the same time... remember: this one was co-written by a man who was very well aware that he was just about to die! this is a very worthful testament to all of us |
| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 21 years ago |
this is the most positive song tool has ever made! there were lines that were hopeful let's say... but the anger, disappointment, etc. always came out somewhere in the lyrics... but this one is really pure... tool is my favorite band for years. but i also think that it is time to take conscious breaths, let this rage go and concentrate on more enlightened lyrics. i hope "lateralis" was just a milestone on this way... |
| Tool – Die Eier Von Satan Lyrics | 21 years ago |
it's good to know German... :) but i never tried it... and what an idea: they would never have released that song if it was in English... so instead of coding all (like tool's always doing) they just taken another language... brilliant idea! let's have spacecakes and spaceshakes and be spaceawake... :))) |
| Counting Crows – Round Here Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| highest level of songwriting! | |
| Counting Crows – Anna Begins Lyrics | 21 years ago |
i think no other song i've ever heard and noticed defines love better than this... this is my ultimate love song actually: not only emotional but also realistic and careful... |
| Counting Crows – Mr. Jones Lyrics | 21 years ago |
watch the movie (richard gere, lena olin) and you'll understand mr jones... he just tries to keep connection to life and is still hopeful but doesn't know what to do next... beautiful expressions... this is songwriting! |
| Anathema – Judgement Lyrics | 21 years ago |
this is one of the best orgy or orgasm or whatever they're called songs: starting slowly (foreplay), raising tension (sexual intercourse) and ending at the top (orgasm)... it is perfect... but i could also have been a perfect ballad if it ended like it started... maybe we will get an alternative version from anathema in the future... :) |
| Anathema – Parisienne Moonlight Lyrics | 21 years ago |
this is the answer to the man singing ONE LAST GOODBYE... i see both as two parts of one song... (my favorite anathema song) they're not coincidentally nr. 7 & 8 on JUDGEMENT... what an album by the way! |
