i agree partly with stonerpimp...talking about how the US will throw away lives like nothing to gain controll...how we will sacrifice ne life to get more land or to destroy a threat...How the US government has no docrine and are "imfidel" that they dont care...they licked power...and now they thurst for more |

this song is also about religon...but also death...its about the rapture...hes talkign about the earth or life as "hell" and the ones cured of their blindness (christains) have been blesses with living with ease on this bitch of life...Gehhenna is when the blind or the unbeleivers in christ or god go to hell described as the blind men...talkign about how it only gets worse untill the end...the rapture...how god forbids u to just read the signs u see...but look deeper between the lines to see the real meaning...that the hourglass of life will come to an end...the unbeleivers go to heaven...the "blind" unbelivers go to hell...simple as that |

| Lamb of God – Laid to Rest Lyrics

Laid to Rest is about when Randy whas newly christened as a christain when they left their "burn the priest" previous band. This song is about religion. He is trying to get across the point that laying all you failures and mistakes to rest...leaving without a patheitc trace of them...is better for yourslef...and this is what happened to randy after becoming a christain
Not all of their stuff relates to the war..ashes of the wake is alot about Lamb of Gods religous aspects mainly...like Hourglass and such...
in the begging quote "single day i could live id trade all the others a way" he is saying that if he could have come to being christened ealrier in his days he would have traded all the others away...rid his slate of all evil |
