i'm not sure if this has been mentioned but i remember hearing that this song was based on the book "the catcher in the rye" which i've also heard is one of billie joe's favorite books..."the catcher in the rye" is my favorite book and i think that this song, which is also one of my favorite green day songs, does have a lot of similarities to it |
