| Devo – Beautiful World Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this song, the video too. I believe its by far the best video, when it gets to the "for you" part and it starts with all the explosions, nazi's all that. But yeah this song is clearly sarcastic, thats why i love it so much | |

I believe this song is about heroin. the "when i hold you in my arms and feel my finger on your trigger i know no one can do me no harm cuz happiness is a warm gun" is an obvious reference to shooting up. The earlier parts of the songs is just examples of crazy things that were goin on during the area, sort of things wrong with the world that would cause someone to do it. "The man in the crowd with the multicolored mirrors On his hobnail boots Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy Working overtime" was about some guy who fixed mirrors to his boots so he could look up girls skirts. THere is alot of references to wierd news items of the time. Showing the flaw of man and y you need an escape, in this case, heroin |

| Rammstein – Du Hast (English) Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Y do people always assume its just you hate me, it is about hesitation depending on how you translate it. The line where he says "du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nicht gesagt" Is what the "du, du hast, du hast mich" was building up to. that is how you make past tense in German (well one of the ways) is to put the form of haben (hast in this case) in their and change the word at the end. but yes idk if rammstein meant hasst or hast. Hasst means to hate, hast is just a form of haben used to for past tense. but if it is hasst then "du hasst mich gefragt" makes no sense, it does not mean anything. "du hast mich gefragt" though means you asked me. But yeah w/e that is y rammstein did it i believe to show the double meaning of it |

| Eagles – Desperado Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I think most of you guys are hitting about right. I think it is about a guy who is afraid to fall in love because of what has happened to him in the past so they wont let anyone get at their heart. Then the person singing the song is telling them they need to open up, take a chance because they cant live their whole life in fear of getting hurt or they will ever find love | |
| Eagles – Hotel California Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim I had to stop for the night There she stood in the doorway; I heard the mission bell And I was thinking to myself, 'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell' Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say... -This verse is about the first time using, probably pot, about how he sort of questioned wether or not to do it, about how it seemed so glamorous and stuff but there was something not right Welcome to the Hotel California Such a lovely place Such a lovely face Plenty of room at the Hotel California Any time of year, you can find it here This is his first use, the wonderful feelings, this is how most peopel start out, just like "wow that was cool, ill do it again" when nothing is going wrong yet. So he continues smoking or w/e he is using and it progresses Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat. Some dance to remember, some dance to forget This is him seeing other people and why they use, still he thinks nothing of it, he is not having a problem yet, he is just "experimenting" still So I called up the Captain, 'Please bring me my wine' He said,'We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine' And still those voices are calling from far away, Wake you up in the middle of the night Just to hear them say... This is when things take a turn for the worst, peopel dont come through and he is starting to really want it. You cannot get addicted to pot or anything, but you really really want it. the "wake you up in the middle of the night" things refers to how you cant even sleep at night cuz all you want is to get high Mirrors on the ceiling, The pink champagne on ice And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device' And in the master's chambers, They gathered for the feast The stab it with their steely knives, But they just can't kill the beast this verse is about them all sort of struggling together, not knowing waht to do. The "we are all just prisoners here, of our own device" sort of saying that they all got themselves into this, but they cant seem to get out, sort of seeing that all the consequences are catching up with them. Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door I had to find the passage back To the place I was before 'Relax,'said the night man, We are programmed to receive. You can checkout any time you like, but you can never leave! This verse is him trying to stop, trying to get back to "normal" but he realizes, that no matter what he does, even though he is not addicted, he still cant stop thinking about it, the "you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave" refers to how even if you quit, it is still always with you, no matter what you do that is a part of you now Well that is my interpretation of the song, softcore drug addiction, i feel this way because i myself smoke pot and that is the sort of feelings i had/ have with it. Anyway feel free to comment positively or negatively. Again it is just my interpretation |

"When I hold you in my arms And I feel my finger on your trigger I know no one can do me no harm Because happiness is a warm gun. Yes it is." That is an obvious reference to heroin, the plunger on a syringe is called a trigger alot, and the tube and needle is called a gun (I had a bunch of friends who used to shoot morphine). But yeah idk about the meaning for the rest of the song, but the ending is for sure about heroin, like the "no one can do me no harm" part is obviously a reference to getting waxed |

I am definitely for the LSD theory. I mean all that psychadellic descriptions and shit man, besides the fact that everyone knows the beatles were into acid, then agian, who wasn't. People make a big deal about this like if it were admitted it was about acid it would make any less great of a song, it is the same song regardless of the meaning. but yeah it was the 60's, most stars, and even most non-stars were fucking around with psychadellics in the 60's man, who cares, its a great song. I myself only did acid once but it was pretty bunk, so i didnt completely lose it, mostly i just mess with shrooms, pot, and pills. But woscow, i totally agree with your point, it is by far one of the greatest songs ever to listen to when your high. |
