I think this song is the greatest song ever writen. Yes, this song is pretty much about communism. Its about peace. you should know though that while "we all want to see the world change for the better but if you start talking about chairman Mao no one is going to want you around anyhow." Lennon clearly wasn't a Marxist, as he did not believe in Violence. This song is for sure not about Communism (as a form of governement) but rather communism (people sharing and living in peace, seeing the evil that is violence) "Imagine no pocessions; I wonder if you can." While many people can not imagine this, some of us do. Joining with John I say, "I hope some day you'll join us and the world will live as one." I do believe though this song had to do with why John Lennon was murdered though. FYI the early communist you are speaking of was named "Lenin". He was Russian, went bald in his late teens and died in the late 1920's. |
