I think the meaning behind this song is that whoever he's singing about is very distant, and their relationship is a bit meaningless. Take the first verse: There's only wind and dust to follow Your footsteps on the run (meaning she's never there) You know me, know when I'm without you I swear my heart burns in the sun (he hates being without her) and then the chorus - don't start walking awa (in other words, don't leave me?) 2nd verse: I see you in your glasses clearly Your shades are blinding me, I say (He knows what she's really like and what he should do, but he tells himself differently) I miss you most when you are with me I miss your missing me each day (he feels he isn't close to her, and he misses that she doesn't feel as attatched to him as he is to her) This is just my interpretation, you know what these guys are like and for all we know it could be to do with some long forgotten battle, or something else just as clever ;D |

| In a feature run by NME, Alex Kapranos said this song was about seduction, and how words can be the "best way of seducing anyone". I think it's also definately about sexual energy, but, in my opinion, it does have a druggish undertone to it, strangely enough *grin* | |
