| Pink Floyd – The Thin Ice Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Well i think this song refers to the incident on which the whole Wall album concept is based on (when during a concert Roger got mad and spat on a fan). The skater is Roger (or Pink Floyd in general) and the thin ice is their music career. The "dragging behind you the silent reproach of a million tear stained eyes" refers to the fans that 'put their lives' in the hands of the band, that means that they expect too much guideness, dreams etc from the band. The crack on the ice is the incident when Roger spat on a fan and started being alienated from the fans and fellow band members. The 'fear flowing behind you' probably means that he got afraid of the too much responsibility being he had by being the 'spokesman' of all those fans. What do you think? |
