what does he mean by "It meant the world to hold a bruising faith, but now it's just a matter of grace" i love this song and have an idea of what its about (at least to me) as a whole but i was wondering about this line more. andyway, it gives me mixed feelings of sadness, nostalgia, calmness and others. no one but smashing pumpkins... |

i think the whole St. Cecilia thing is right, but if people are confused about the muse deal you could always look at it as being sort of like "writers block"; she shaking his confidence, he begs her to come home; maybe its about his inspiration and art and music he begs to come back to him. making love in his bedroom ,leaving for a second and then coming back to have his spot taken; he sets his mind aside of his work for a minute, to any distraction his inspiration and art could leave him/ finally she comes back and loves him again; his inspiration and music is returning to him. its a long shot but could fit :P |

this really is a wonderful song. so man people have speculated as to if it is about drugs or not and though i can see where they're getting that from i dont think its true at all...you could say that with pretty much any song, especially the poetic and metaphoric ones but its usually not the case. i do think it is a song about friendship but also in some respect a song about God. he is there for us as our bridge...or if not God specifically our faith. just turning to it when you need it can be like a strong friendship. what a classic. |

i love this song so much, it really is a song of innocence. in the past year i have lost two close friends of mine in car accidents; this song always reminds me of them and how their innocence will never be spoilled. whenever i look at pictures of us i will aways remember the sweet innocence of us. love you Krista and Sean, i miss you. |

| Incubus – I Miss You Lyrics

i know this song is about a relationship...missing someone/loving somone/ breaking up, etc. but to me it also reminds me of someone i cared deeply about. Sean; on of my very best friends and incidently guy i was pretty much in love with but never had the guts to tell him, passed away about 6 months ago in a car accident. so this song to me is about how much i miss him. from the lines wake up to explain is about how he made me feel and how blessed i was to know him and i hoped he felt the same. how it could be real and the utopian dream is like when i wonder if any of was ever real or just a dream. the lines about pictures and pillows is about how everything reminds me of him. within the week after he passed and even now i feel like im wastign away without him. from ten days on perfectly describes how i feel. i miss you terribly Sean, i know one day we'll see each other again in heaven and i pray every night that you know how i felt and still feel about you and that i miss you. this song reminds me of you and makes m cry. RIP. "i know i'll see you again", love. |
