I like how it says "take control of the atmoshpere" because, ironically enough, Jesus will infact, literally take control of the atmosphere some day. It will be beautiful beyond words. Oh and just to add - This song is even cooler if you got to be a part of the music video ... like I was :) |

heartrocketblast and homergomez hit the nail on the head i think. and just to add, as some of you have already stated, the lyrics "fell in love with the game, but i forgot your name" implies that "the game" could be anything in anyone's life. Even a good thing. Not just gambling as so many christians automatically lable as a no no. We know in Christ all things are legal but not everything is profitable. One man might even use this reasoning just to continue doing whatever he does (be it sports, gambling, tattoos, music, whatever) but as soon as he forgets the name of the one he claims to be living in freedom with, he's worst off than ever. I love the picture the song gives of this man wrestling in the mud. I automatically thought of jacob and the angel. And he just says "break my jaw I don't care". Kill me and my selfishness, Lord, he screams. |

I think this song just totally narrows down and simplifies the answer to so many of our questions in life. there's countless remedies for this or that. 12 step programs, connecting more with your "inner self" etc, bla bla bla. But then this song just says, "hey look, the answer is simple - more of God. thats it." many people or lookin for this but havnt realized it yet. |

I love this song, man. And though I wasn't there, I heard them play this at their farewell concert. It was the last song they played. very appropriate i think. It pretty much lays the truth out on the table for christians. Even though it's great, and fun, don't get too attached to the glamour of this world cause it ain't gonna last. keep your eyes on eternity. and for all rock bands or celebrities in general - there's more to this life than the lights and fans, the fam. again, it's temporary. where will you be spending eternity? |
