It sounds like he is telling the stroy from a point of view of someone in a war, while a city was in flames or something... then when he says; "I left some words quite far from here to be a sure reminder. I laid them out in stone in case they need to last forever" He could be talking about a memorial, or headstones..to those who lost their lives in war.. "If love’s a word that you say, Then say it. I will listen." This could be him saying "If you believe love exists, explain it and show me how it can exist when i see nothing but war" |
