hey! i havent written on this site for a long time, but i decided to check out what people thought of Thrice's new songs lyrics! and the only reason i'm writing is because i'm ENRAGES with what fadetoflashes wrote!!! how the heck can you of all people judge Thrice's lyrics, or ANYONES for that matter??!! now i love the lyrics of this song, they're really thought out by looking at them, just like all Dustins lyrics are, but man, just because you dont like the lyrics its doesnt mean at all that their lyrics are crap!!! and the melodies are in no way bad!!! all the melodies of this song fit in PERFECTLY!!! just because YOU dont like like a certain thing, its never to say that who you're judging is bad at all! i hate listening to pop and rap, but that doesnt mean they're bad at what they do! so STOP judging bands and people, you have no flipping right to!!! thats all, God bless! Jezebel was also a wicked queen of Israel who was married to King Ahab! actually, this relates to my 1st comment!! she tried to force paganism on the whole of Israel, to worship Bhaal! she nearly succeeded but the prophet Elijah was the only man to confront her publicly, showing God overcame all, even her false God! she hated him so much she wanted him dead instead of converted! she dressed up like a hollywood vamp for the showdown and waited at the window to taunt men who came to deal with her! she had NO loyalty and in the end her own servants threw her out the window! another fun story in the Bible, lol! Delilah was aslo a Jezebel, so all this relates!! women who are unloyal, and use people! |

oh, actually, thism is a better thing for the "Jezebel": "Samson was a strongman who let himself be led astray by a Jezebel like Delilah" so in this song it might mean that Juliet's leading Romeo astray! leading him on, using him, but he doesn't want to believe it |

well "Jezebel" i dont think is an ex-lover, i think its supposed to portray something! i did a search for Jezebel online and got this: "Jehu's command that Jezebel should be thrown down from her window" now, we know the story of Romeo and Juliet has the whole "Romeo talking to her at her window" thing (it's also shown in their AWESOME music video) so that probably the meaning behind that! the same for "Mr Jones"!! its not really an english thing (yes, i'm from england) but isnt Mr Jones a name given to a perfect man? "the nice guy" sort of thing! if thats right then it means that Juliets perfect man will be soon with her (Romeo) the rest i can't be bothered to explain as most of it has been but thats for the people who were confused with the meanings of those names! the point is no ones really gonna know the TRUE meaning behind the songs but the artist that wrote them! its a shame most artists these days dont tell everyone what their songs are about! people can still have their own views and stuff but its always best knowing what the ARTIST meant! |

i agree with trojengrind except it seems like he already knows God exists and has already done the "bad deed" but he's not sure if God will forgive him or not, that he might be written off of God's list for heaven coz he's done this bad thing thats what i think anyway |

actually this song is about God. its about how we mess up all the time and yet God still forgives us, He still waits for us patiently, no matter where we go or what we do He'll still be there for us. and the chorus is praising God for how loving and merciful He is. A lot of people will hate reading all i've typed and might regard me as some "religious fanatic" or "bible basher" but hey, you cant ignore the truth. these guys are definatly gonna get big fast! |

i agree with nothingmatters, the 1st verse seem to start the story, telling us she's already dead, and the 2nd expalins why. people made her feel she was useless and so her responce was a gunshot to her head. "And then, it's all blown away. With you or us all." meaning she died and everyone was blown away, shocked by the result, and they speak of the incident no more: "And no one says a word from there on out." all the time he knew she was really beautiful on the inside and everyone else is messed up, killing their heroes, the people with great potential, whatever. but yeah, awesome song! DEAD POETIC ROCK!!!! and their already working on their 3rd CD!!!!WOOO!!! |
