To me this song is about redemption. It's probably about Scott's drug problems, but to me it's about seeking a second chance in life or even a second chance with a relationship (any kind of relationship). At the same time, he accepts the fact that it's hopeless and "there is nowhere to fly", but still hopes for even "half a chance".

I think this song is about a prostitute and about the guys who always call her when they're lonely and in need of comfort. The "plastic bags" (condoms) are as disposible as her "plastic friends", as she goes from one call to the next. |

He tries to "fix" her but sees in the end that she's beyond salvation, that he can't save her and that her addiction will soon kill her. At the same time he admits to the fact that he's addicted to her and that "he's no better". |

I don't think this song is about God, but it definetly can relate. I pretty much agree with PullMeUnder.
Anyways, I think that this is one of the few DT songs that could/would play in a "regular" FM radio and it's pretty catchy. A great song, nonetheless. |

"Loud Love" is the first step of a complete evolution that Soundgarden passed from "Ultramega Ok" and really crappy songs, like "Head Injury" to being one of the best bands ever (in my humble opinion) with albums like "Badmotorfinger" and "Superunknown". It's definetly not their best (or worst) song, but it was a major step for them.
By the way, the lyrics are pretty straight out and I totally relate to this song, that's why I like it a lot. |

In his anxiety, he looked back and Eurydice vanished form his sight forever.
