i'm swiss, so sorry about my english ;o) to my opinion this song is a little story in his life: he fell in love with that girl.. but she leaved him, as she had done it before with "the badger and the one-eyed toad".. she found a new "love", but he "ignored" it and achieved, that the relationship broke up... now he's sorry about his behavior! he lost the girl definitively, and knows that it would never be the same again between him and her... he sees, that he made mistakes and wants us (the listeners), not to make it the same way! - not to get toghether with just beautiful girls, which doesn't have any respect of other people feelings - to accept it the way it is..... i hope you can follow my thoughts... :o) |
