Lucky_, it's the sad truth. Conor Oberst is my favorite lyricist, and with every year, another one of his birthdays comes around, and that night I pray to myself that he's not doing something to get himself hurt. I don't think it'll be long before we find that something HAS happened to him. *knocks on wood*
But in a sense, I think he knows that too. I think that's why he made this album. it's called DIGITAL ASH IN A DIGITAL URN. all of his songs of death put together to convince himself that it'll all be better in the end anyway.
"I put the past into the ground. I saw the future as a cloud. If there's still time to turn around, I'm going to. It's just, one day I fell asleep... And all day, all night I dream"
I love it. |

Bleah. This used to be an extremely special song between someone and I before it was released on a cd... I went to see Bright Eyes without this special person. This song was performed and I just felt so overwhelmed. I called him during it and let him hear it live... Then about a month later, he went and saw Bright Eyes without me.. with his girlfriend. *sigh*
This song really means a lot to me. When I was with said person, it described our relationship perfectly. |

I am in complete love with this song. All of the lyrics are beautiful.
"how we sat on the backs of our cars and laughed until the morning..."
My favorite lyric out of the whole cd, heh. This song makes me kind of sad. Reminds me of my ex... |

When I saw this band, they left us with this song. It really brings back a positive vibe in me whenever I listen to it now. |

I love how the music is so happy sounding and upbeat, but the lyrics aren't exactly happy.. I love that combination. It really gives me mixed emotions about the song and kind of makes me feel like Conor can be deep in thought and come up with lyrics like these but still have a good outlook, or carefree feelings.
Haha, so basically he knows what he's doing is wrong but he can't fix it or doesn't want to. He likes it. |

I thought of To Kill A Mockingbird and Donnie Darko when I first heard this too, but when I first saw the title, I definitely thought about Alice in Wonderland.
We all know what this song is about so I'm not going to explain it anymore than anyone else has. I don't think I'm more elite in description than anyone else. I hate when people say the same description over and over again... |

| Desaparecidos – Man and Wife, the Latter (Damaged Goods) Lyrics

This song is by far the best Desa song. I love (The Former) too, because it is just so sweet. If someone sang that song to me I'd cry and love them forever. This, however, is the aftermath of so called "love." When you become a couple, get married, live together, things just become so bland because everything becomes routine and there's not much room for real affection. Especially when you're busy trying to keep your house up and your life together. |

I adore this song, as well as every Desa song. But this one DOES seem to stick out in that he screams more in it. One of the best. |

Aw. This song reminds me of my ex-boyfriend, heh. It really is a good song but he would always listen to it when he was down. |

This is basically saying that people should just live their lives without having to deal with all of everyone else's shit. Like the whole thing with the judge that doesn't even know him, etc. This is a really good song.. |

Hahaha, endo. You need to go back to elementary school and learn some grammar. How old are you? And you're telling everyone else to grow up? You are so funny. :p
ANYWAY, as I said on the other page with these lyrics, I don't really like this song all that much and never have. It's definitely not one of their greatest. I hate how many people are obsessed with it. |

| Insane Clown Posse – The Dating Game Lyrics

Haha, on the censored cd, or the other version, it's called the dating game I think.
Personally, I think this song isn't that wonderful and this is one of the reasons all of the annoying people who like ICP, like ICP. This song made them rather popular, which I guess is alright, but I never really liked this song all that much compared to the others. |

I think they see life as hell and if we can live through it and die in our natural state, we go to heaven no matter what.
"Did ya ever burn your finger on somethin? hey
Well picture this, your nuts burnin that way
And a roman candle stickin' in your butthole
That's where the greedy skank motherfuckers go
This is all hell now, we livin' in it"
"No builder on earth can concieve any structure to compare to the mansions above.
Won't that be something when you go to live in your own mansion?
There'll be no concern about paying for it,
it's already taken care of.
There'll be no worry about veing moved out of it.
It will be yours forever." |

This is definitely one of the songs I'm not very partial to. The music's cool and all, but it seems like the first time I listened to it, it's full of awe, but after that it seems to die. |

I've heard the saying before.
And I think this song is really fun, and I laughed when I first heard, "did you hear those first two songs?
they were fucking tuff", just cause it reminded me of the hXc scene. |

I think you're right, rockisgroovy.
BUT IF YOU KNEW HOW IT WORKED, WE'D HAVE TO GROW OLD.
^^I LOVE that part. This is such a catchy song. I absolutely adore the music to it as well as the wonderful lyrics.
"If you knew how it worked, you would never grow old."
I think that part is about life, and if you completely understood it and found your meaning, you'd never grow old because you would have surpassed the stage of death.
I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else. |

May Angels, I think the hypocrite part is different and opposite than what you say. I think that he is a hypocrite in the sense that sometimes you feel as though you want to die, but when it comes down to it and you're closer, you start to wish you had more time.
I think this song is one of the most awesome on digital ash, too. |

This is one of the most beautifully written songs. I wish that in the song it wasn't such bad quality, but I guess sometimes that's what makes it Bright Eyes... But I'd no doubt listen to it a lot more often if it wasn't lacking as such. |

My dream is to sing it with him as the girl in the song. ...I can dream. |
