| Why? – Against Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Easily my favorite from the new album. | |
| Why? – January Twenty Something Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The verse about the bike tire is a reference to "A Little Titanic" from Oaklandazulasylum. I love how many references to older material are on Eskimo Snow. |
| Why? – One Rose Lyrics | 16 years ago |
...Or we/re struck dumb and doomed when it doesn/t. Brilliant. |
| Why? – Into the Shadows of My Embrace Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Amazing. | |
| The Blood Brothers – Set Fire to the Face on Fire Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Can you think of one Blood Brothers song that isn/t about politics (or socio-politics, to be more exact)? | |
| The Blood Brothers – Giant Swan Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Oh ye of little faith. The Brothers ended their show w/ this song, it was fucking amazing. There was so much power, and so much beauty. |
| Why? – Weak Moon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Absolutely beautiful. | |
| Sole – Pawn In The Game Pt. 2 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is fucking amazing. I love how it Pawn pt.1 transistions into it. |
| Sole – Da Baddest Poet Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is fucking fire. I love it, it/s basically Sole/s "fuck you" to the entire world, but he makes sure to give respect to the people that he loves at the end. |
| Danielson – Did I Step On Your Trumpet? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is absolutely beautiful, and really a brilliant analogy. I can/t get over how much I love this song. |
| Danielson – Ship The Majestic Suffix Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The lyrics are so unique. So fresh. |
| Passage – Old Aunt Mary Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is fucking brilliant. | |
| Why? – Bad Entropy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love this song. It/s about living conscious of the world around you despite pressures from the media, etc. |
| Sole – Selling Live Water Lyrics | 19 years ago |
His sound has become so devious, almost evil sounding. I fucking love it. |
| Sole – Center City Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| God, I love this song. | |
| Why? – Dumb Hummer Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is great. In actuality, this is Yoni being pompous. When he says, "I/m below you..." what he really means is "You are below me," so to speak. Very clever. |
| Why? – Gemini (Birthday Song) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Oh God, that makes perfect sense. I always thought the line "and I did it w/ the grapefruit soap thinking of you" was about maturbation. |
| Why? – A Little Titanic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Fucking brilliant. One of why?/s best songs, certainly my favorite off of oaklandazulasylum. |
| Hymie's Basement – You Die Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Absolutely beautiful song. It really does a great job of tying the whole album together through one deep truth. |
| Hymie's Basement – 21st Century Pop Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Basically, this song, like most of Hymie's songs, is about the superiority complex in the 21st century. This particular song refers to an imperialistic American government, and the nuclear power that helps to secure it/s role as the most dominant government on Earth. Root root root for the home team. |
| Why? – Sanddollars Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Great song. I think it/s mostly about avarice. |
| Gnarls Barkley – Who Cares? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
God, I love Danger Mouse/s producing. And Cee-Lo/s voice. hahahaha They just go together so well. |
| Gnarls Barkley – Smiley Faces Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree, but I think it/s also about that struggle we call life. It/s about living in the moment and making the best of things: "What went right? What went wrong? Was it a story or was it a song..." Probably my favorite Gnarls Barkley song right now. |
| Gnarls Barkley – Just a Thought Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Just a Thought." I love that, it is so simple, but it explains so much. |
| Buck 65 – On All Fours Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| A lot of his song seem to be about being a big celebrity and all of the problems it causes in your life. | |
| Buck 65 – The Centaur Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this song is about celebrities and how rotten paparazzi journalists care way too much about their personal lives. | |
| Why? – Gemini (Birthday Song) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I/m not really sure what it means, but I believe he is using soap and showers as a metaphor throughout the song. |
| Why? – Act Five Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Absolutely beautiful. Simply great. One of Why?/s best. |
| The Unicorns – Tuff Ghost Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Like someone else said, this is about someone who puts up a macho facade, but in all actuality they are easily hurt (and they show it: "I can see right through, right through you.) |
| Hymie's Basement – Ben and Joey Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song. | |

I like Cryonics, but I like this a lot too. |
| Hot Cross – A Voice Turned Vacant Lyrics | 20 years ago |

| The Sick Lipstick – Thighmaster, I'm Yr. Master Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Fucking great! | |
| Sparta – Hiss The Villain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
i.e. Check out the song "A Plague Upon Your Hissing" by The Mars Volta. |
| Sparta – Hiss The Villain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I think this song is about the parting of At The Drive-In. This is a song that Jim wrote for Cedric and Omar, because he didn/t believe that At The Drive-In should be done for. |
| The Blood Brothers – Jennifer Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Neither Jordan nor Johnny are homosexual. They are both just very flamboyant. They are both in serious relationships w/ females. |
| The Blood Brothers – Junkyard J vs. the Skin Army Girlz/High Fives, LA Hives Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Good analysis. | |
| The Blood Brothers – Under Pressure (Queen and David Bowie cover) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Put simply, the best cover I have ever heard. The first time I ever heard The Blood Brothers' version of this song, I was seeing it LIVE! I can/t describe what a rush that is. Simply amazing. Then I heard The Used and My Chemical Romance covering the same song. I swear, one day I/m going to steal one of Johnny Whitney/s shoes, kidnap Bert McCracken and Gerard Way, and force them to eat it. They aren/t even good enough to just kiss that shoe I/m going to make them eat it piece by piece. |
| The Blood Brothers – Jordan Blilie Pets the Wild Horse's Mane Lyrics | 20 years ago |
God, I love this song. Today I, I mailed a brick through your window. |
| The Blood Brothers – American Vultures Lyrics | 20 years ago |
The meaning of the song: This song is about a golddigger (vulture) marrying an old and dying millionaire to get his money when he dies. (i.e. I don/t want to laugh until your dead) But, it gets worse. This vulture woman is a coniving bitch. She likes to go out to parties and has multiple lovers meanwhile leaving the old man to rot in bed. And obviously, she is spending all of his money even while he is still alive. |
| The Blood Brothers – Wolf Party Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I agree w/ gunplusgun. The "wolf mechanics" are the instincts for rage, hate, and malice inside all of us. |
| Alkaline Trio – Smoke Lyrics | 20 years ago |
These are the actual song lyrics: "Over and out of it for one more plane ride out Not sure, and never was if this will all head south, or what Wait here a month or two will pass, I'm sure I won't Faith dear, enough to get you by until we're home I wish, I don't wish I still smoked I wish, I wrote you one original note Take me home, tuck me in Moon go down, do it again take me home, tuck me in Moon go down, do it again Over and out of it for one more plane ride out Not sure, and never was if this will all head south I wish, I don't wish I still smoked I wish, I wrote you one original note Take me home, tuck me in Moon go down, do it again take me home, tuck me in Moon go down, do it again" I really enjoy this song, and I thought I should do justice to it by posting the real lyrics because they are magnificent, especially the chorus: I wish I don/t wish I still smoked. |
| The Blood Brothers – Trash Flavored Trash Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I do agree that this song has a lot to do with television, but I think it's a little more expansive than that. I think it has a lot to do with Americans or America itself. "There's a housewife in a cage that vacuums all day. There's a boy in toupee speaking resume's." The toupee obviously represents how Americans want to be more glamorous and the part about speaking resumes is commenting on how we are conditioned to get a job to pay for this and that etc. |
| The Bled – I Never Met Another Gemini Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"A tarnished angle leaves her ghost on the surface" freaking awesome. |
| The Bled – Dale Earnhardt’s Seatbelt Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Fuck, my bad... "I Never Met Another Gemini" is about a love far away. This song actually has a lot of car wreck references. |
| The Bled – Dale Earnhardt’s Seatbelt Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Dale Earnhart was a famous NASCAR driver that died in a car accident. The name of the song "Dale Earnhart's Seatbelt" has something to do with the accident. I'm not totally sure how the name fits with the song, because the song to me represents a love that is far away. | |
| The Bled – Porcelain Hearts And Hammers For Teeth Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"I'd burn alive to keep you warm..." This is how I feel everyday. |
| Tupac Shakur – Hail Mary Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Really great song. I like especially how the intro to the Makivelli album leads into this. | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – A Lack of Color Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| All I'd like to say is that this is an absolutely beautiful song. It makes me cry all the time. | |
