No it gives a sorta "imperfect" vibe. I would agree with you if the lines of "Time Bomb" or "Lying in the Hands of God" weren't so religiously ingrained. "Baby when I get home, I wanna pick up the pieces. Hammer in the final nail and lean me up against Jesus." However in "Lying in the Hands of God" he does take an anti-conversion: "Save your sermons for someone who's afraid of love" so I would agree with you I guess now, but would like to clarify pro-God, anti-religion. |

He is saying, in my opinion, that people seem to be hiding behind evolution. At the end he says "Hello God, I'm avoiding the truth." That seems to hint that he thinks that evolution, is just a tool to hide from the truth of God. But thats just my opinion. |

mrbucket you are terribly mistaken, he said it himself he has a tremendous respect for Jesus Christ. He is in no way mocking him. And people like you who think that all of Jesus' miracles are "a world away" are exactly the people who are talked about in the bible. That is where faith come into play, no ive never seen Jesus, no i have never seen his miracles, but i do know with every fiber of my being that he lived, and died, for US, so to your question "what has he done for me" he has done everything for you. *Sighs out Deaply* sorry, was a lil upset. |

It leads me to believe that he is talking about God, because he talks about praying, priest, and his "one and only". He also says about there not being a heaven or a hell when he is gone, and that leads me to believe he may be struggling with his faith. I cannot say for sure what religion he may be struggling with (although I believe it to be christianity) but it would seem to be a pretty religious song. I know he talked about his repect for Jesus, but not for being a savior (not saying he doesn't believe that) but for his ability to tell stories.
P.S. I also didn't hear about a divorce, and hope it not to be so. Eventhough he writes good songs when he is upset (ie Halloween) that is no reason to wish someone pain. |
