| Cannibal Corpse – Fucked With A Knife Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Cannibal Corpse is technically skilled yes, but are they talented? no. I listened to the songs for the new album, three songs have exactly the same drum beat, technically they're hard to play but does it take talent to write the same drumsequence three times? no. If you want to hear something that's technically hard, listen to Buckethead or Death or Opeth or Slayer. At leats with those guys you'll hear some complex songwriting. Cannibal Corpse writes the same songs over and over, the artists (emphasizing the word artists) I mentioned don't. | |
| Fugazi – Argument Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Wow I like how all these indie elitests won't listen to a band just because they're popular. What a load of b.s. Maybe if Fugazi got airplay then people would have access to their good music. Everybody deserves to hear Fugazi's awesome music, if Fugazi gets popular than the masses will at least be listening to good music instead of crap like Simple Plan and Fifty Cent. Popularity =/= music quality people, get off your high horse and stop being such stupid elitests! | |

Obviosly about drug addiction and manipulating people to get what you want. "Clever got me this far / Tricky got me in" Addicts are very clever in their ways to obtain drug money. "Just give me what I came for / Then I'm out the door again" Another sign it's drug addiction. Addicts will only when they've visit the ones that love them when they've got no more drug money, then when they get what they need they're gone until the next time they're seeking drugs or money. "Time to feed the monster" "Lie to get what I came for / Lie to get what I need now / Lie to get what I'm craving / Lie to smile and get what's mine / Give this to me / Take what's mine" These are the most incriminating lines for the drug interpretation really and self explanetory. The song really can be intepretted in different ways but this is the most fitting interpretation for the album in my opinion since "Thirteenth Stepping" is a Twelve Step meeting term. |

| Cannibal Corpse – I Cum Blood Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Has anyone else noticed that almost every death metal song sounds EXACLY the same? | |
| The Snake the Cross the Crown – Gates Of Dis Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Either, the literal interpretation would be it's about a serial murderer, or metaphorically it could be aboput someone who doesn't want to commit. Either way it's an awesome song. Period. | |
| Third Eye Blind – Good for You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Anyone else think this song was inspired by Smashing Pumpkins' Zero? It has the same hard edged gothic feel and the song subjects seem similar. | |
| The Smashing Pumpkins – 1979 Lyrics | 21 years ago |

It's definately about suburban teenage life, more specifically Billy's suburban teenage life (born in '67, song's 1979, do the math ;) ) Maybe about the misguided direction in kids' lives? I'm just gonna anylize the more interesting lyrics. "and i don't even care to shake these zipper blues and we don't know just where our bones will rest to dust i guess" This is my favorite part of the song, "Zipper blues" is most likely a lyric making fun of teenage drama, no real meaning to it, just a childish term for children's problems the rest of it is refering to teenagers having no direction in life "We are all going to the same place in the Earth no matter what we do in life" Is the way I read it. "they're not sure just what we have in the store morphine city slippin dues down to see" No one knows how each child will turn out and a drug addict is just another possible outcome of a typical teen's life. "justine never knew the rules, hung down with the freaks and the ghouls no apologies ever need be made, i know you better than you fake it" Justine is a rebelious kid who hangs out with all the outcasts, and Billy thinks she's a poser just looking for an identity. "forgotten and absorbed into the earth below the street heats the urgency of sound as you can see there's no one around" Just another generation of teenlife overwith and done, never to be remembered, and the last line (as you can see there's no one around) I think is refering to someone who lives in the past, and is telling them to grow up and leave that life behind. This is an awesome song, proving that Billy Corgan is one of the greatest lyricists out there, this will go down as one of history's greates rock songs and Billy will go down to be one of the greatest song writers, up there with Bob Dylan and John Lennon. |

| Harry Dash – Sex Bomb Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| A song for all the girls out there ;) | |
| Third Eye Blind – Motorcycle Drive By Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This may sound really barbaric, but my interpretation is it's about a girl who won't "put out" (so to speak)- either he wants this girl and she doesn't want him or his girlfriend isn't ready to go steady yet and he's worried nothing will ever happen. Maybe she just wants to be friends? I think, more specifically, this is about a highschool relationship that never blossumed due to a difference of priorities. Hear me out, I'm gonna point out what I think backs this up. "And I'm sleeping on the couch When I came to visit you..." He spent the night at a girl's house and simply put, she made him sleep on the couch. "...That's when I knew I could never have you I knew that before you did Still I'm the one who's stupid" At that point he knew for sure, though he knew all along, that he wasn't going to get what he wanted. "And there's this burning Like there's always been I never been so alone And I've never been so alive" Pretty much he had and always will have feelings for this girl, and he's unhappy he can't be with her, but he's relieved he can finaly move on. "And there's things I'd like to do That you don't believe in I would like to build something But you never see it happen" He wants to take his relationship (friend/girlfriend) with this girl to the next level, but she doesn't believe it's right. "Where's the soul I want to know New York City is evil The surface is everything but I could never do that Someone would see through that" I think he's switched the the girls perspective, New York is an evil place and full of evil people that she doesn't want to be taken advantage of. She's saying that her reputation is impotant and she doesn't want to be seen as a whore. "And this is our last time we'll be friends again I'll get over you, you'll wonder who I am" He doesn't want to wait anylonger and he's going to just move on and find someone else. Eventually they'll forget about each other. "I go home to the coast... ...I'm not thinking of you again" So now he's gone home and doesn't want to think about her anymore. "Summer dies and swells rise The sun goes down in my eyes See this rolling wave Darkly coming to take me home" Unable to get her off his mind I think he regret's his selfish "put out or get out" attitude and now the dark wave taking him home is the repercussion catching up to him to take him back to reality and now he has to live with his mistake. |

| Third Eye Blind – God of Wine Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"i think its a metaphor for a bad relationship or one where the other person is trying harder when the other isnt" *Sigh* Why do people seem to relate every 3eb song to the typical "relationship gone bad" analogy, He does write about other things ya know... I think it's pretty clear anyway that this is about a fatal car accident caused by the drinking of a close friend: "Every thought that I repent There's another chip you haven't spent And you're cashing them all in" This, I think, is a metaphor for his friend continually taking a chance (There's another chip you haven't spent and you're cashing them all in [chances are signified as chips]) driving behind the wheel drunk despite many warnings and eventually his friend is going to run out of chips (chances) "I walk home alone with you And the mood you're born into Sometimes you let me in And I take it on the chin" He is questioning his friend about his drinking problem, sometimes his friend will talk (Sometimes you let me in) and he will find his friend is in denial (And I take it on the chin) "Can we get clean again I want to know Can we get clean again" Self explanetory, he's telling his friend "Give up the drink, there's better things in life" "The god of wine comes crashing through The headlights of a car that That took you farther than you thought You'd ever wanna go" Pretty much, the his friend who's under the influence never thought it would happen to them (That took you farther than you thought you'd ever wanna go) The friend thought she could drive fine but the "God of Wine" drove them into "The headlights of a car" "We can't get back again We can't get back again" He can't change what happened to his friend with the accident. "She takes a drink and then she waits The alcohol it permeates, And soon the cells give way, And cancels out the day" He's talking about the moments leading up to the accident, she get's drunk and suddenly crashes into somebody the inside of the car getting crushed in (And soon the cells give way ["cell - A small enclosed cavity or space"*]) "I can't keep it all together I know... I can't keep it all together " He feels distressed and guilty about his friend's accident, his friend finally ran out of "chips" "And the siren's song that is your madness Holds a truth I can't erase All alone on your face" He is haunted by his friend's death and can't erase his last memory of his friend's face. "Every glamorous sunrise Throws the planets out of line A star sign out of whack A fraudulent zodiac" Every time he has a happy moment in life (every glamerous sunrise) he's quickly reminded of his friend and the world around him is thrown into whack as he relapses into his misery and regret. "And the god of wine is crouched down in my room You let me down, I said it Now I'm going down, and you're not even around" He is contimually haunted by his friend's fatal wrong choice and now he's converging into a deep depression and his friend isn't there anymore to council him through his increasingly hard times (Now I'm going down, and you're not even around) "I can't keep it all together I know... I can't keep it all together" He's still going crazy from the regret painful memories. "And there's a memory of a window Looking through, I see you Searching for something that I could never give you And there's someone who understands you, more than I do A sadness I can't erase All alone on your face." This part baffled me at first... I think... I think he's bringing back memories of before the crash, he remembers seing his friend in serious need of help, but he couldn't do anything to help his friend (Searching for something that I could never give you) and he pretty much told the friend to see a therapist (And there's someone who understands you more than I do) probably causing the regret. And finaly, the last memory he has of his friend is his friend in an extremely deep depression, which he can't erase from his mind. (A sadness I can't erase All alone on your face.) Ahhh done, it's definately my favorite 3eb song, the lyrics are brillant and the music is magnificent. There's not many songs that match this, lyrically and musically. Excellent song. |

| Harry Dash – Planetary Man Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I'm 99% sure these are the lyrics, except near the end "But when you've gone" and "Take me to the sky away with Planetary Man" are the trouble spots, I can't quite understand, but like I said, I'm 99% sure that's what he sings, but if I'm wrong just say something. This is my second fav Harry dash song, up there with Eggshells, the lyrics are so whimsical and mysterious, and the guitar solo laid down at the end of the song- no other band could match that no doubt the best part of the song. But the lyrics are pretty self-explanetory though their context could be anything, maybe a childhood imaginary friend? |

| Harry Dash – Eggshells Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Obviously a tale of a broken relationship, my favorite Harry Dash song. | |
| The Smashing Pumpkins – Egg Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| These are the coprrect lyrics (listening to the song right now) It's a great song, one of the better songs from Mashed Potatoes, I wish they made more songs like the earlier ones from the late 80s. | |
