| Michael Penn – Walter Reed Lyrics

Walter Reed was an army doctor during the civil war, he had an army hopsital named after him, and was buried in Arlington.
The song to me means that this guy is tired of fighting a war he cant win and he is wounded and he just doesnt want to fight any more. ANd he just wants to go to the hospital for wounded soldiers. |

This song to me means that there will be a change in your life and sometimes you have to step out and look from a far at your life and deciede what you want to keep and what you need to let go of. And sometimes these things we choose to do are impossible and not popular, but you have to stick to them or you will end up in a rut of life not wanting to be there, but you are because everyone else wants you to be and you lose sight of who you are and where you came from and going back home again means finding your roots and who you are and who you want to be, you have to think back to when you were as pure as a child and thought like a child and what you wanted back then. then with your heart racing you gotta do what makes you happy. trying to find "your one true swing" something that cannot be learned only remembered. |

Good song, it shows that superman was a regular person too, not like Tarzan who was just tarzan he wasnt a hero and a person. First time I heard this was in a Canadian Television show, Due South: The Pilot. It showed that the main characters father was a mountie and a dad. The two were one. |

This song is about someone coming back from the war, which is the whole basis of the album. And all the horrors you have seen and done in war. That when you finally come home you have to try to forget about what has happened and "cover" so to speak the war scars and be like everyone else at the bar. Knowing that underneath your mask, you are years older then you are. By the way I love this album. |

I am glad for one that Roger wrote this for his father and also for the movie, it actually starts the movie out right. gives it the effect of the very first brick that Pink has to endure. |

| Pink Floyd – Outside the Wall Lyrics

After watching this movie over and over again. I've found that Pink wound up in a mental institution, if you watch the cut version of Hey You, you can see scenes of him undergoing elctro-shock treatment. you can also see this in Another Brick in the Wall part 3. There is also visible accounts of young pink visiting older pink in the insane asylum , passing the straight jacket that laid on the bed, just like Young pink running to old pink sitting in the chair. The whole song represents in my opinion, that when people shut themselves off in the world, there are people who will do anything they can to reach you and make you feel better. the bleeding hearts and the artists are the ones that were deamed "bad" by the high authorities, like the school master. During those days they wanted to make men out the children becuase most of them lost thier fathers in WW2 and they wanted them to grow up strong without being a mother's boy. whoever those people who were deamed bad are the most kind and the ones to help you through almost anything. |
