| Interpol – The Heinrich Maneuver Lyrics | 18 years ago |

vaguely reminiscent of U2. i like it. |

| Keane – Is It Any Wonder? Lyrics | 19 years ago |

They DO sound a bit like U2 in this song, particularly the song Zoo Station. Maybe it's just me, but I like Keane with the addition of guitars. |

| The Thrills – Don't Steal Our Sun Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's "We're enemies, and bitter foes." Not "Well, I'm amazed..." | |
| Interpol – Public Pervert Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
This is really stupid and random, but I was watching the movie "Contact" when this song popped into my head, especially the parts "We all get paid well, some get faith before they die. And through stars we will never gaze through the holes in your eyes" And "The flying, the metal, the turning above, these are just ways to be seen." Dunno. It just popped into my head. |

| Interpol – Evil Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I always heard this song as being about a murder and perhaps necrophilia. "It's the faces in the sand" and "Right will take you places/Yeah maybe to the beach": maybe the narrator brought the murdered woman to a beach, to dispose of the body in the ocean? This would connect to several other Interpol songs, such as Stella. "Make revision to a dream while you wait in the van": changing his dream about his relationship with this girl while her body waits in a van. "You're weightless, semi-erotic": Again with the sea burial; perhaps necrophilia? "Sandy, why can't we look the other way?" He doesn't want anyone to see what he's done. Just an idea. |

| Pixies – Velouria Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The background vocals are just V-E-L-O-U-R-I-A. | |
| Interpol – PDA Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
For Dan's background lyrics, I always hear: "You're set for all time, you're set for all time; Can I follow? What's that for?" At least the "You're set for all time" part makes sense; in the context of having couches where someone can "sleep tight". I love the ending to this song. Beautiful. |

| U2 – Trip Through Your Wires Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I can't believe anyone's not commented on this song. I love it! Sure, it's not the best musically on JT, but it's still fabulous. |
|
| U2 – Miami Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love this song, especially the "C-car chase," and then the solo. Great song. | |
| The Allman Brothers Band – Ramblin' Man Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The Allman Brothers'. Best. Song. Ever. | |
| U2 – Hawkmoon 269 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
There is no town called "Hawkmoon". Bono was quoted as saying that it's a motel room somewhere in his imagination. It's about being drunk, ("As the room spins around") and missing someone's love. Yes, great song, though. And I love the addition of the organ played by Bob Dylan at the beginning, and the gospel choir at the end. |

| U2 – Beautiful Ghost Lyrics | 21 years ago |

This is an unreleased track from the Joshua Tree era... It's in the "digital box set" on iTunes and the lyrics are from a poem by Blake. |

| Franz Ferdinand – 40 Ft. Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Just because a song is upbeat, doesn't mean it's not about something like suicide... Look at U2; a bunch of their upbeat songs are about suicide and drugs. I think, whether the song is about suicide or not, the person is obviously on a bridge. It is probably the contemplation of suicide... that could be the "bad situation" that the band was speaking about in the interview. |

| U2 – Numb Lyrics | 21 years ago |
