I think this is how about how he loves this woman and she loves him back but she can't live with him because she lies a normal life where Ashcroft lives a depressed drugged up life. So she doesn't go with him even though she loves him and he can't understand why because he is caught up in how much he loves her and not in how bad his life is. |

In my opinion this album is terrible ad this song is the pime example. I know that thy got screwed with anxiety but I doubt that after having their debut album going gold they can't afford rent. Their first album was promising and I actually liked anxiety, I just figured they would have grown up a bit for their third. They didn't...I'm disappointed.

A majority of the lyrics for this album were written while he was in rehab for some presciption drug, i can't remember which one. Anyways he's talking about how hed rather feel pain then get high and feel no emotions at all. Then it seems in this song hes trying to coax a friend into quitting drugs and accepting the pain they live in. |

This song like Liam said is about respect for something you love. I know they had different music videos out in the UK and in the US but in the US one they flash pictures of past great musicians really subtly which shows that it is a tribute. They had Hendrix for sure I think I saw Lennon but I haven't seen the video in a long time. I'm sure its on youtube. |

I think you guys are right on with the whole depression aspect of the song but because the song is so up beat and he continues to say start your engines it seems as if he is fine with the place he is at. He thinks that this is just how life is supposed to be so you gotta get high and get going...pretty helpless but well articulated for sure. |

I never thought of it that way before but it makes a whole lot of sense that way. The way he says "If only I was born another time" plays part to the soldier meaning because then he wouldn't have had to go to war. It makes sense that the song has a strong political meaning too because I know Deify at least has one. I haven't really looked at the lyrics of the other songs but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them had some sort of political meaning. |

I definatly think this song is about drugs...probably because I don't want to like another love song. It would make sense though because he loved the ways drugs made him feel, but he says "I never had it anyway" which means the feelings he got from drugs were just an illusion. That's why "Everything will be okay". Also, the life he wanted from "her" was just care free. He says she died on the mountains because he's saying that he distanced himself from drugs until he no longer needed them. Thats why it was on the mountain because the top of a mountain is so far away. I don't feel like typing anymore so maybe I'll put the rest up later. |
