"I walk down these roads, you drive them like highways. Not a care in your mind if you'er doing the right thing. In all of my life, I've never been so ashamed to say that I was right." this part isn't in the song, but it's still part of the lyrics. Straight from the booklet included with the Doppelganger cd. |

| in betweeen mark my words and get engaged.. i believe he says with plans to stay together or with plans to stay to get on, whichever works i guess. i think it's together but him saying it with like an accent/saying it differently/leaving out syllables. he actually does it a lot. | |

yea.. my guess is that it there was a problem that ruined everything one of the persons dreams were. now the person is trying to avoid the other but still kind of friendly towards that other. a message to phroot, you have a point with the easy to understand lyrics.. but what was so great about Saosin was that the lyrics really had to make you think about the whole song and what i could really mean. that plus Anthony singing/screaming his voice with fast paced music. |

| I meant the choruses explain a flashback not verses. | |

This song to me explains a story of an apprentice that takes hold of their master's craft. I can interpret from the first verse that since the apprentice is taking over, the master has nothing else to do but watch and die. He doesn't know where to belong to anymore. -"..Avalon is always beside me and I'm falling apart.." Something happens with the apprentice and the master just watches and thinks to himself he could've done better. -"..His eyes open up, I once believed I would set you in line. If only i had things straight you could believe in something 'till the end." The verses to me explain a flashback sort of to before when the master teaches the apprentice. Where the apprentice is eager to learn. The second verse says that the craft the apprentice takes hold is exercising his control over the craft. The last lines are about the master seeing his young apprentice doing well. How he was able to do things the master never did so he "stole out his life" and the master smiles at the thought. Kind of like how Confucius had a student who had a lot of potential and could've been what he never was. That's what this song means to me. |
