Dropping Daylight – Take a Photograph Lyrics 20 years ago
I think this song is about a relationship taken for granted by the other person. Pretty much, the message being portrayed (as interpreted by me) is he's sick of dealing with the shit in the relationship, and he's done with it. Now he's telling her she can look at what she's losing because of her behavior... and he's not going to be around anymore for her to treat like shit.

**EDIT: "And fill the ground with desperate I'LL ADVISE" I think that's supposed to be desperate ALIBIS

Our Lady Peace – Dear Prudence Lyrics 20 years ago
this song is about not being so stiff, letting yourself have fun, doing what you want, and not being so wary. because if you are, you'll miss out on the things that are truly important.

siouxsie and the banshees did a really good cover as well.

i think this song is about finding your perfect love, your soul mate. being completely in love, but not trusting that she feels the same way. and even though she tells you, you still doubt... so the love, and her love cannot be completely true and real.

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – Parallel or Together? Lyrics 21 years ago
this song is about a relationship that crumbled because they weren't completely open, and at first satisfied, with eachother. they become sick of eachother, but don't want to end it because it's as close to love as either of them has ever been, and they're afraid of losing it and never gaining anything better. he takes the first step, though, and ends it; saying that they're not truly happy with eachother, but they can't stay together in hopes of greener grass on the other side. he feels that he wasted too much of his life on something that didn't truly satisfy his hunger for loving, and being loved in return. he tells her not to be too upset, because it'll get better. she'll forget about him, the pain will erase, and she'll find someone else who will truly make her happy.

Metric – Dead Disco Lyrics 21 years ago
i think this song is about the way no matter how good music is, or how revolutionary (like metric) there's going to be people steretyping and copying... and no matter what we do, people are always going to listen to music for the scene, not the music itself. also, i think in this part: "Tits out, pants down
Overnight to London
Touch down, look around
Everyone’s the same
World wide, air tight
No one’s got a face left to blame"
she's saying that everyone is trying to be someone else's version of COOL, or SCENE and people completely forget who they are.
